The food tasted ok i did feel it had a weird taste. I honestly dont recommend it, i order 2 tacos and a quesadilla and it took the lady almost 30 min, it wasn’t that busy and the lady still took along time. So i dont recommend it, save ur money and go somewhere else.

Told me the corn tortillas were handmade, they were not. I didn’t order cheese and got it, now looking back I even got charged for it. Couldn’t get my card to work had to spend extra to get cash because she waited to take payment until the meal was done. The card reader was busted so it would not take a card that swipes. I asked 3 times for extra salsa and had to give up, because there was zero effort made to understand. One half full cup of salsa for two subpar tacos is not good. Really disappointed, I would recommend driving 2 mins to get literally anything else.

Taqueria El Venado is a great place for authentic Mexican food. The owner is super nice and fun. Everyone should come and have a taste of this amazing food. I love her tongue tacos and barbacoa tacos, so much flavor and no grease to boot!

I had to wait 45 min to get 3 tacos (5 bucks each taco btw), they were ok, I don’t recommend it tbh. They need at least 2 persons working, u can’t be touching cash n preparing the food at the same time.

My boyfriend and I found this place when we first started dating and went almost everyday. Now we don’t get to make it back as much but is by far one of my top 5 places to get authentic tacos in Austin and I’ve lived here for 20 years! Super affordable and the ladies running the truck are always so sweet. 10/10 would recommend if you’re looking for a quick bite in the east austin area!
