The food was generously sized for the price. Very delicious!! Service was slow but all the tables were clean and the floor wasn’t sticky. The restroom was clean as well. Certainly a value and given the location you know it had to be good. Would certainly return for a good dive dinner.

Read the picture I have to last post. I ordered a pastor burrito NO ONIONS,NO PINEAPPLE and the waitress in red shirt still gives it to me with both! Her first time serving me tells me, they are having her serve me because I order my burrito a certain way. After that she served me 4 about 6-8 years. How ever for the last few months her & the manager you see in picture are giving me with ONIONS and PINEAPPLE . Or unseasoned pork.when I get it that way the manager looks @ me using my debit card to see if I leave tip because she knows what I got. And I don’t give tip when I don’t get it my way! Yesterday the server in red gives me burrito with wax paper in it. I ate half of the burrito with the paper. Thought it tasted funny. I only eat half @ restaurant & half next day.thats when I saw the wax paper. I guess I need to talk to a lawyer about making me sick.i have been eating here since it opened many years ago. So the cook also is part of this crime along with the manager,& server because he makes it!!? I might call WDAF ch.4 the fox to make report. Maybe they need to get on the news. On how they serve customers who have been there since they opened. Other Mexican restaurants like jalapenos, taqueria Mexico make it how you want it,& McDonald’s does it how you want!! Take a look at what you get SERVED!!! It might not be what you asked for . The manager, server,& cook should be FIRED!!!!

My husband and I get tacos ALL THE TIME and I think we have found the best in Kansas City here for sure!! I get the Al pastor and they are absolutely amazing and by far the best I have had. I love the many choices of sauces as well! And then tonight they had a mariachi band come in which was really neat! It’s definitely AUTHENTIC Mexican food here and I love the environment. They could be more attentive to tables but still definitely worth it!!

At first I thought this was a fast food restaurant. However, you order from your table and they bring everything to you hot, fresh, and delicious. The service was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the beef tacos, chips, and Coke products. Everything was clean. The air conditioning was cool on a hot day. They were about 50% occupied when we were eating. It seemed quiet and comfortable. There is plenty of parking. Oh, the price, I was surprised that the tacos in my photos were only $2.00 each. The drinks were $3.00 each.

The waitress with a nice shape was very rude. She was actually taking our order then out the blue told us to wait and went to serve some gentlemen in the back corner.
Start dancing walking to the guys and take their order of course their food came out first. I didn’t notice it until my wife brought it to my attention. So I walked up to the counter to place our own order not fazed how unprofessional she was and thirsty. 10mins past then the waitress finally came back on the phone. “Asking us… is everything okay.”Lol Not trying to pull the race card but it’s most definitely racial discrimination and tension when it comes to black women
My wife noticed it, and then I start paying attention. How we were over looked. Now on to the food…Terrible I sent my burrito back twice and still wasn’t fresh like they just use the same meat not caring about plated and how it was presented to me.

I was pretty excited about trying this place out based on the high rating. The prices were your typical prices for Mexican restaurants but expected good food in return. I m sad to say the least, that this restaurant did not meet my expectations. The agua frescas were pretty good, but that’s about as far as I can go. I don’t know if you can see from my picture but the meat was way over cooked and was super dry and hard. The flour tortillas that were brought to me were super chewy and elastic. I had a real hard time finding a good piece that was soft. It was definitely a big serving size, but I rather have gotten a smaller portion with alot better taste. The rice was a bit bland but soft. The beans were ok. Overall I feel I could have gotten better food at a food truck. I don’t think I’ll go back again anytime soon. Hopefully the next time I come here my experience will be alot better.

One of my favorite Mexican spots on Independence Ave. The salsa bar is awesome. I’ve ordered probably half the menu and only ever regretted the shrimp quesadilla. I go whenever I’m back in the area.

Well, I’ve been coming back every time I want good Mexican food. For almost 20 years. And not planning to quit eating there. Like I did on other places.

This was my favorite mexican restaurant. That is until today. They changed their tortas . They took off the refried beans and added a bunch of miraclewhip. Nastiest thing I’ve ever tasted. I’m mad as hell because by the time I actually tasted it, it was 12:30 at night. Paid damn near 12 dollars for a sandwich that got white washed. Disgusting. More miraclewhip on the sandwich than meat. So disappointed. Tacos are still good. But they also messes up on my order with only 3 people sitting at the table in the restaurant. You get to mess up my food but once.
