We stopped by El Rey Taqueria right as they opened, and it wasn’t long before the place started filling up — always a good sign! We had originally planned to grab food from the taco truck up by Main Street, but they weren’t open yet, so we decided to give El Rey a try, and we’re so glad we did.
The food was fresh, fast, and delicious. The staff was super friendly, and the whole place was really clean. Plus, since it was raining, it was extra nice to have a warm, dry spot to sit and enjoy our meal. We’ll definitely be back!

You guys, who would’ve ever though, the BEST CABEZA that I’d ever had would be in Monroe? I’ve lived all along West Coast and ate tacos everywhere in my life. The cabeza here was so good I had to eat 4. Absolutely divine, and I am so glad I only live 15 minutes away from here. And they also have the spiciest salsa verse that could satisfy my taste buds. Nowhere I’ve been made it spicy enough!

Ordered from here several times in the past month. First off, the portions are generous. The super burrito is generously filled with meat, fries, and rice. The flavor on the asada is spot on, rich and authentic. Let’s also not forget the salsa’s, both red and green. Packed with flavor making it a perfect addition to the menu.
Value – Generous portions, the super burrito can be a several day meal.
Taste – Authentic flavors, salsa is fantastic.
Taqueria El Rey delivers on both flavor and value. Fantastic spot for Monroe and definitely worth checking out.

Better food than you’d expect to find in Washington, so far from the metropolis. Authentic, flavorful Mexican food. The carne asada (on the fries and the tacos) was phenomenal, worth coming back for. Pricing is very competitive, better value for your money than Taco Bell. Chips and salsa were provided for free. We were also offered three very different sauces to choose from, all great.

Ordered for delivery on a Friday and my food came pretty quickly. I’m extremely impressed with their prices as well!
Chicken flautas were satisfying, salsa that came with my order had the perfect kick! Definitely will order here again!

Authentic Mexican grub. I’ve only had the super burrito but it’s a big sucker, generous portions of meat, etc. I’ve gotta come back and try some other stuff.

I waited 40 minutes for my food, and it was a very simple dish. I was the first person to arrive, then more people came in and they all received their food before me, which I thought was unfair.
