¡Esto está más americanizado que mexicano!
We were excited to try this place, but unfortunately it didn’t meet our expectations.
The Burrito Grande was more like a burrito chico. Portion-wise, it was comparable to a Taco Bell 5-Layer rather than what you would expect from something labeled “Grande.” For the price, we were hoping for something more substantial.
Flavor-wise, it didn’t have the authentic Mexican taste we were looking for. The carne asada lacked seasoning and depth — it tasted more like plain grilled meat rather than well-marinated asada. The rice seemed more like white rice with orange coloring added, without the traditional flavor you’d expect from Mexican rice.
On a positive note, the salsa was excellent. It had great flavor and definitely helped elevate the burrito, making it more enjoyable.
Lastly, the music was so loud that we couldn’t have a conversation at our table, and even the waiter had difficulty hearing our order. A more moderate volume would really improve the dining experience.
Overall, we wanted to love it, but it just didn’t deliver the authenticity or experience we were hoping for.

Fast forward to our dinner, where the 2 quesadillas were swimming in an ocean of grease. Luckily, we had plenty of time to sop up the mess with extra napkins while we waited on the other two entrees for the table. We had to ask for plates & silverware to attempt to cut the greasy mess.
The fajitas finally came out – hot and crispy. Ok, more like burned to a crisp. Chicken so dry it gave the Mojave desert a run for its money. The beef fajitas could have been jerky.
The only plus we had here were the drinks: house margarita & mango margarita were delicious. Now, if you’ll excuse me, the four of us are now headed back to the house to fight over the three bathrooms.
We left stuffed & with a to go plate for $65. I will be back to eat here ASAP! Probably tonight for dinner.
The waitress acted like we were a bother. I had to ask 3x for ice, 2x for salt. We were told am the tacos were on sale except the taco grande and that was false, manager did discount it after. The Asada and grilled chicken didn’t have much taste and they didn’t get that order right.
The manager gave away our elote (appetizer) to another table and then dropped off the other appetizers and all food arrived before that came (after we asked about it) and it was just can corn and the mexican cheese/queso fresco, no seasoning.
My friend enjoyed the red sauce, really the only positive thing except those 2 young men who looked like High schoolers or young college. Only reason I gave it a 2*
The manager’s friends/regular customer – someone who they knew had their dog at /on the tables and chairs, never was on ground (we did eat outside but still) and the tables were tacky and we had to put napkins on the table everywhere our arms touched the table.
They had thick chips, which I prefer thin, this was not a game changer but letting people know.
What really stood out, besides the food, was the service. Even though the restaurant was busy, our young waiter (I didn’t catch his name) was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Our food came out quickly, and the whole experience felt smooth and well-managed.
On top of all that, the prices were surprisingly affordable – such a great value. We’ll definitely be going back. This place is a must-visit if you’re craving authentic Mexican food on Oahu!
