I’ve passed by this place a few times and finally decided to stop in, I’m really glad i did!
The service was great – everyone was so nice, and the food was delish!
The place is small, but it was cute inside. I would definitely consider this a little hidden gem – it’s tucked into a plaza, and worth the effort to try and get to during the lunch hour traffic on Secor.
I got the Watermelon Aguas Fresca, which is basically freshly blended watermelon and water, which was really refreshing and not too sweet! We got an appetizer of Elote Fiesta, which is spicy potato chips smothered in corn, cream, a couple kinds of cheese, and lime. The other dishes we ordered are the traditional tacos (carne asada/steak), Birria Tacos, and Asada Fries.
Everyone at the table was really happy with their orders, and I’ll absolutely be coming back!
The server also informed me that the refried beans are in fact vegetarian, in case anyone is looking for that info

First time coming and we were very happy with the food, birria tacos were good, and my carne asada tacos were awesome! They have a nice size menu, have to go back and try something new.

I ordered Quesabirria shredded beef cilantro & onions washed down with Chihuahua. Fast courteous service. The owner/cook’s name is Fernando, he was quite a gentleman, he even gave me a piece of free cake that tasted like heaven. The food dessert & beverage was very tasty and delicious.

This shop has quickly become one of our favorite go to places to eat! The food is incredible and is some of the most authentic we have found in the area. Prices are very affordable and everything we have tried is great. My personal favorite is the al pastor! If you go here, made sure not to skip on the tres leches cake.

This is our favorite place for food whenever we find ourselves in Toledo! Authentic Mexican food is hard to come by in Cleveland, so it’s such a treat to eat at Taqueria El Gallo de Oro. The food is excellent We usually get the Torta, or the Birria Tacos, or soup. It’s all so good! But the spicy chamoy fruits really is the topper UFFF it’s so good!!

Fernando (hope thats how its spelled) greeted me upon walking in and delivered the absolute most welcoming ive had in a while. He love what there restaurant is providing and will be happy to explain as well as guve you a taste of tue most delicious homemade icecreams you will ever eat
I stopped in for lunch and ordered 3 traditional carne asada tacos along with the beans & rice with a mexican coke. The food was delicious actually better then i anticipated so thats a 5*. The service waa impeccable from start to finish..posting pics for reference as well as what else they have. THIS IS A TOLEDO MUST TRY! THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT FOOD AND HOSPITALITY

Authentic tacos that will surely leave you wanting more. Taqueria El Gallo de Oro which in English means “Taco Shop of the Golden Rooster” is perfect. I have been here plenty of times and have never once had an experience that was not overwhelmingly positive. I recommend the Tacos Birria.

I ordered 3 tacos on taco Tuesday for $1.75 each. They were amazing! I honestly don’t like cilantro and forgot to ask to leave it off, but it didn’t matter because they were so good (especially the Al Pastor)! The lady at the counter was so nice, she hooked me up with chips and salsa which I didn’t expect and she made sure I had sauce for my tacos too. Would absolutely recommend!

All the food was soo good. My kids love hot Cheetos so they loved the Cheeto quesadillas and I had the veggie burrito. The fruit was fantastic.i can’t wait to go again to try other stuff!!!!
