Taqueria is my go-to on the Tuesday drive home. Kansas City has a long list of great Mexican restaurants but there is something special about stopping at a Taco stand and getting fresh tacos (and burritos, tortas, and tamales). The food arrives hot and fresh and the people working at the stand are always nice. It is a popular place for people to stop around mealtime so make sure you have time to wait if needed. One time I went there and a whole fire truck (seriously like 8 firefighters) got there right before I did so that took a while to get my food. But it’s always worth the wait. Definitely support this local business. You will be glad you did. Of all the food I’ve eaten there, the asada tacos are my favorite.

Best authentic street tacos we’ve ever had from a food truck and we’ve tried a lot of different places! The meat is always juicy, the tortillas are always cooked perfectly, and they are all around delicious. All the sauces are amazing as well. My husband gets steak (Asada) tacos and I get Tacos Al Pastor (pork with pineapple in it) and they are SO GOOD!!!! Great service, always friendly, and they make your food really fast. Taco Tuesdays are the day to go if you want cheaper tacos. Also the Quesabirras are amazing and they put a lot of meat in them! Seriously best tacos in town!!!

I was in town and looking for a quick Mexican meal and purchased a Cabeza Torta and it was amazing. The meat and all ingredients were great and it came with grilled onions and a jalapeño on the plate with two small containers of salsa. The avocados and vegetables were fresh. It’s a good thing I don’t live in Gardner as I would want to eat here all the time, haha.
