Best charro beans I’ve had across the valley. Affordable prices for a taco order, $8. Really flavorful bistec, salsas on point! This is a first: they actually offer a healthy version of tacos “saludable” with cabbage, tomato, avocado and no oil. You can tell they care about their menu and their customers. Went in the early afternoon, and service was great!

STAY AWAY!! Not the first time they mess up on To Go order but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. We live in San Juan and go to the Pharr location because my kids like their tacos. At the drive through, we emphasized “verdura aparte” cilantro and onions on the side like 3 times. What happens when we get home to eat….they forgot to put the sides!! I call it in to complain while my son goes back to pick it up. Meanwhile, our food is getting cold. My son gets to the restaurant and they had the audacity to charge him $5 for the sides they forgot to put in. So by the time he gets home, the food was cold. Called it in again to complain about the extra charge. You would think they woul be apologetic but No!! The lady that answered was super rude and talking back. So they mess up the order, make us go back, charged us for their mistake and food got cold in the process. Ruined our family dinner!!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!Eat in the restaurant you get better service the drive through is worst than a drs office. The guy n girl did not want to take the order when they kept looking at us and passing by till we waved down asked if they were gonna take our order. The guy then says ok what do you want. Then waited almost 20 minutes. Called and they were all just being idiots!! Aye van…as if they were mad we called to check on it!!! The girl that answered the call sounded annoyed that we were asking if they were actually getting our food ready….But if u eat in restaurants miraculously the food comes to you in less than 10 minutes! Never again don’t waste your time!!! Oh by the way went to stars as soon as I noticed that we got small potatoes when we ordered large potatoes, went to stars and received our orders in less than seven minutes, so don’t waste your time at this place go to stars. They’re the best.

Food was decent the service was a 6 out of 10. The worst thing is that I order a loaded potato with the rest of my food and I didn’t get it. I reminded them twice I got upset and just told them to make it to go. I came to this restaurant because family recommended this place but it seems like it’s over rated.

Place is “High Tier Mid” I got the “Compadre special” which includes 2 lonches, 3 tacos de bistec and a Joya Manzana drink (Apple soda)
The meat was tender, the flavor was bare minimum
The pricing is affordable which is good and the food does what it needs to kill your taco craving (without breaking the bank)
It’s a chill spot to go to on your lunch break or if you’re waiting for your car next door to finish getting washed. I’d go again if I had to wait an hour to get my car washed again.

We had a horrible experience today. We waited almost 45 minutes in the drive-thru with no courtesy update about the delay. Apparently, the potatoes were going to take another 15 minutes, but no one informed us. When I called to check on the order, the young girl answering had a bad attitude, and the gentleman said there were other people waiting as well. I understand delays happen, but at least let customers know so we can decide whether to wait. Instead, we were just left sitting there. Never again — not worth it.

We were greeted up on entering, there was only one waitress on duty, she brought our menus and took our drink order. She promptly returned with our drinks and a small bowl of charro beans for both of us. She then proceeded to attend to the other patron that entered all this while she was on her cellphone. I order the 6ct street tacos of mollejas and the misses ordered the lonches combo which consist of two lonches de bistec and a small baked potato. The orders did not take long as there were only 3 tables in use including us. The beans were good, the baked potato was on the money and the Mexican coke were cold. As for the tacos and lunches, they were ok not a total loss however the meats used were not what we asked for. I asked for mollejas and got string beef with a small sprinkle of mollejas, the misses ordered bistec with queso fresco which was left out and got the same meat combination. As it was late in the day and I was feeling hangry, I bit my tongue and decided to eat our meals in peace, pay, and leave. On a last not management should consider A/C maintenance as it was hot even with ceiling fans and 3 stand fans. We definitely will Not Return. This no way reflects how El Compalito in Weslaco, Texas operates. We have never had a bad experience there.
