The food was amazing and the service just as awesome! We stopped by the day after Christmas it was cold, cloudy and rainy. The first sign that this place was going to be good was that there were already people in line ordering. We got the steak tacos and a steak torta along with a side of rice and beans. When we mentioned to the owner that it was our first time trying them out she gave us something to taste while we waited for our food. Everything was excellent ans we will be

This is a family run business that only serves the best quality food. Everything is fresh, I eat their ceviche like I own stock.. lol They are good people who make great food. Just got chicken soup, it was so cold she gave me a cup to warm up.

First visit and I knew immediately I’d be back, quite possibly the next day. The food is outstanding and the service is just as good. The man working was incredibly kind and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. Pictured: quesabirria tacos, and yes, they’re as good as they look.
UPDATE (months later): This has become our favorite spot in Elizabeth City. The owners are genuinely kind, humble people and so easy to support. The food never fails to exceed expectations, especially for the price.
UPDATE 2 (over a year later): I had no idea what a gem this place would turn out to be when I wrote my first review. To this day, it’s still the best around in my opinion. The owners treat everyone like family and they can seriously COOK. They take pride in their food and always make sure to provide quality experience. Everything is consistently delicious. Tried the chicken flautas for the first time tonight and I’m already obsessed. Perfectly crispy. (Picture 2)

The Birria plate is delicious! It was my 1st time there, and the food was hot, and they are friendly. Will be back! I gave it 4 stars for atmosphere because there was no garbage can, so I brought my garbage home.

I was not impressed. Ordered the chicken quesadilla. I had a whole mozzarella stick( the kind you send to school with your kid for lunch) at the bottom, whole. The chicken was dry and the size of a finger nail, and tastes like it was boiled and sat in sauce for hours or from yesterday. Maybe other dishes are better, maybe a bad night. However, not again for me. And yes, I know the food truck I walked up to as well as the name on my receipt. I’m sure I’m reviewing the correct place.

It seems like something you’ve seen before, a Mexican dining truck with massive servings!
Yet the culturally rich home-spun concoctions of this husband/wife are anything but ordinary & they’ll have your mouth watering & your belly telling your feet to double time before your eyes can focus on the menu. Rest assured no matter your order(& I’ve ordered at least six dishes) you will be full for days. When your stomach is finally empty, your tastebuds will be dragging your backside back again & again & again!
The owner & his wife remember customers by name & order, yet it is NOT just about the transaction. They ask how you are, like how you’re REALLY doing and they ask about your family they have met too! And they’re not ‘just being polite’. They’ll stop what they are doing, or ask the assistant to take over, so they can give YOU their undivided attention. If you decide to wait in your vehicle while the food is being made, they bring it to you, hand it to you, & shake your hand.
