I tried a cart that’s been on my list for a while. I’m pretty sure Taqueria Don Jose is owned by the same guy who owns Don Angel and a few of the other “Don” carts and trucks. I tried asking the woman running the cart—she was friendly, but she didn’t speak English—which was unfortunate because I wasn’t able to quality-control my breakfast burrito. I ordered the machaca because the ones I’ve had at Don Angel have been excellent. I tried asking what else was included, but that was a non-starter.
Upon unwrapping it, I discovered that I had forgotten to ask her not to cut it in half. When it’s been cut there’s not enough wrapper to properly to contain possible droppings and liquid. I was also disappointed to see that there wasn’t much egg or meat, but there was lots of rice and potatoes.
This is partially due to the language barrier, but also because their menu states that the breakfast burritos come with “hash browns, 2 eggs, cheese, and choice of meat.” Notice there’s no mention of rice or beans. Compare the photos—both are machaca, but it’s easy to see the difference.
Taqueria Don Jose is a decent cart, but I’ll stick to ones where I can communicate. -VanPort Insider✌

Delicious taco salad with chicken and green sauce made in a timely manner by gracious hosts. Lots of sour cream and guacamole, crispy shell and great flavor. They gave me a buzzer to know when my food was done so I could wait comfortably in my car. Definitely recommend Taqueria Don Jose as a delicious and convenient meal option!

This place doesn’t disappoint. I’ve tried a lot of tacos and this place is it. Always come with good portions, flavorful extra (carrots, jalapeños, onion, sauces). Everything is delicious! Oh and on taco Tuesday tacos are $2 each.

Good birria.. quesabirria is cheesy and delish and the consume is really flavorful, slightly spicy but not overpowering at all. Also had a birria plate and it had plenty of meat. Prices are average and in range with most other taco trucks in the area. They are very nice too.

Come here for excellent, authentic Mexican food. We love the Tacos Al Pastor and the Birria, ¡que rico! Reasonable prices, delicious horchata. This place is always busy, a sign of a good food.

Birria tacos are supposed to come with the dipping juice 100percent of the time?…well, not with this place…for some reason, when they ask if you want CHEESE with your birria tacos…they also mean the dipping juice with it? Really confusing, so… I said no to the cheese without them explaining to begin with that they also mean dipping juice….so,.I ended up with the dryest birria tacos I’ve ever had. Completely disappointed. Also, MY WIFE ORDERED AND SHES MEXICAN…AKA, FLUENT IN SPANISH, SO NO LANGUAGE BARRIER. Food was over priced.
