Is Taqueria 10 de 10 worth it? : r/austinfood – Reddit

The main thing though is their tortillas, I believe they’re homemade and make truly amazing burritos. make sure you add the cheese!

Weekend getaway in Austin, went here for lunch.

Ambience – located in an alley, can be a little confusing to find. Walk into an alley bar, go through a door, walk through a small seating area, around the corner to the kitchen where you wait in line to order and get your food. Can be fun if you like hustle and bustle. Energetic atmosphere, everybody working fast getting customers their food. No table service, you order, you wait for your food, you try to find a place to sit.

Food – very tasty, we order 3 different ones just to try out the variety between the two of us, along with a side of chips and salsa. The salsa is outstanding…probably the best flavor I’ve had in a long time. Our tacos were steak, chicken, and pork, all on homemade tortillas. Very fresh tasting and tasty, but the meat was chopped fine, tough to hold together while you eat without it falling out the ends.

Enjoyed the lively atmosphere and great quick lunch.

Would I go there again…yes

Would I recommend…yes.

Tacos are muy bueno. I got the crispy shell chicken taco. They call it Volcán style . I ordered two and the come loaded!!!! Salsa and chips are on point. Super casual atmosphere. Little bar up front for cocktails. If you are in the area make it a point to visit ! Access to the entrance is actually in the alley.

Fun, secluded little taco restaurant down an alley near the convention center. The pollo and nopales tacos were both excellent with everything on them. A great blend of flavors and just enough spice. As you order and file past the kitchen you can see the tortillas plumbing on the grill and smell all the flavors of their menu.
There are a few tables and several counter seats. Closer to the door there is a bar making drinks with tequila. The typically paid street parking is free on Sundays.
I’d read Taqueria De Diez, Whip My Soul, and Bird Bird Biscuit all made Yelp’s 2026 Top 100 US Restaurants list, ranking No. 47, No. 62, and No. 66, respectively.
It didn’t disappoint!

A taco speakeasy! How fun. When you walk in, it’s a bar. You have to walk through a second door to the tacos.

The tacos are delicious! They are almost $5 for each taco, but they’re a pretty good size. The service was quick. You order at a counter and then give the ticket to a chef and they prepare the food. There is a sauce/ lime bar which I love.

5 star quality food, but value option was 3 stars. It was pretty spendy for street tacos, especially when there’s so many options in Austin.

They did mess up our order though. They gave us one less taco than we ordered, which for $5 a taco is disappointing.

The food is excellent. I had the adobada pork taco and a chicken volcan. The flavors were worth the wait. I had a line of about 15 people in front of me. However it went fast. Tip – once you order and get a ticket, you have to hand it to a chef in order to get the food prepared.

Only taco spot in town where I actually really love the carne asada tacos because these are cooked on charcoal and really taste like the ones my family makes at our carne asadas. Al Pastor is also amazing with the pineapple and salsa. De acuerdo, son 10/10

Hands down, the closest Mexican take-out most matching that of So. Cal Baja Mexican food I have had on this 7000 mile journey.

A pass-through (walk-through) hole in the wall is most characteristic of a place I used to frequent in San Diego.

Special paper fold under each taco plate was another characteristic I had seen from a catering in the same San Diego area.

Very good presentation of my tacos . . . had to take a picture.

The walkthrough feature allows you to momentarily interact with the chefs and staff. They also play the game well.

A must do in the alleys of Austin.

The tacos here are incredible — flavorful, juicy, and made with the freshest ingredients. Every bite tastes like it was made with care. I especially loved the al pastor and birria tacos; the meat was tender, well-seasoned, and bursting with flavor. The tortillas are soft and perfectly warm, and their salsas take everything to the next level — spicy, tangy, and full of depth.

What really makes Taqueria 10/10 stand out is the consistency and attention to detail. The portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the service is fast and friendly. You can tell the team takes pride in their food and their customer experience.

Whether you’re a taco lover or just looking for some of the best authentic Mexican food in Austin, Taqueria 10/10 should be at the top of your list. Delicious, satisfying, and always a great time!

I don’t know how anyone could vote less than 5 stars. This places is incredible. Everything we ate was amazing. And such a fun vibe being a reverse speakeasy style with the bar in the front and the tacos hidden in the back. The staff were all lovely. 10/10 recommend!

Taqueria De Diez (D/10) is such a hidden gem in downtown Austin. The entrance through the alley makes it feel like a secret spot, but the tacos are absolutely worth finding. The al pastor and carne asada were super flavorful, and the fresh-made tortillas made a huge difference. Portions are classic street-taco style, so I loved being able to try a few different ones. Fast service, great seasoning, and really authentic vibes. Easily one of my favorite taco stops in Austin.
