Cinco Hermanos completely won us over. The food is authentic, flavorful, and very generously portioned. We tried the tacos with rice and beans, and everything was perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious.
The beef soup was outstanding — tender meat, fresh vegetables, and a rich, comforting broth that tasted truly homemade. You can tell everything is prepared with care and tradition. The salsas were amazing too, with great flavor and just the right amount of heat, the perfect complement to every dish.
We will definitely be coming back. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food made with heart, Cinco Hermanos is a must-try!

Highly recommend Taqueria Cinco Hermanos! We stopped by around 7:30 PM on a Saturday and were so impressed. The steak, pork marinade, and fish tacos were all delicious — my husband and son absolutely loved them. Great prices, friendly staff, and a welcoming vibe. Definitely a hidden gem we’ll be coming back to!

we were immediately greeted when we walked in by the friendly staff! when we sat down two nice waitresses tended to us and they were great!
the food portion made mine and my boyfriends mouth drop! literally…. lol. it was so good!!! well worth the 30 minute drive!! will definitely be coming back
i got 2 steak tacos & a ground beef huarache, i liked the steak more than the ground beef! my boyfriend got a steak burrito and will definitely have some for lunch tomorrow

On Saturday, 13 December I lunched at Taqueria Cinco Hermanos in Grayslake with clients; we arrived about 1pm.
We were invited to seat ourselves and did so; we were attended almost immediately by a friendly, personable waitress who took our drink orders.
Our drinks arrived very quickly as well as a plate of tortilla crisps and a small bowl of salsa; the salsa was excellent, with a good, home-made flavour and a terrific ‘kick’ to it (but not too hot).
I enjoyed it very much, and told the waitress this as well.
Due to the cold weather, I ordered a hot coffee, which arrived in a very beautifully decorated mug; it arrived very quickly as well.
The waitress commented on the mug and, again, was very friendly and personable.
Our orders arrived VERY quickly, in less than five minutes; I ordered the steak tacos and they were DELICIOUS.
Full of flavour and served with cilantro, onion, lettuce, and tomato (and not too much of this) and on soft flour tortillas.
I ordered three; I should have ordered more!
The tacos were served with several different salsas, including a habanero which was wonderful and a salsa verde which was not as spicy but still had a great flavour/kick to it.

The waitresses kept my water glass filled, and with plenty of ice!

Decided to try this place as our usual go to has gone down hill… Walked in on a Friday afternoon and it was PACKED! Ordered the El Pastor tacos with cheese onion cilantro and grilled pineapple and they were the juiciest most flavorful tacos I’ve ever had! The workers were nice and the guacamole was super fresh as well. Will definitely go back here to try their other items.

Not hygienic!
My family and I stopped for lunch and the food was ok at best but while we were waiting to pay we observed the cook preparing food without gloves or a hairnet. Severe cross contamination. Touching meat, tortillas, lettuce then wiping his hand on his clothing.
I’m so disgusted! I pray that we dont fall ill from this meal.
