My son and I tried Taqueria CDMX for the first time today. I ordered Cali Fries (crispy French fries, steak, queso & topped with fresh guacamole). My son ordered the Chimichanga with steak, queso, rice beans and a side of fries. Everything was well seasoned and fresh. We really enjoyed our visit. Queso was great!

This hidden gem is has the authentic birra and tortas made to perfection. We shared a huge stone bowl filled with sizzling fish, beef, cheese, rice and topped with crunchy shrimp and then shared the birra tacos to see if they matched the ones we loved during time we stayed in Mexico. We were stuffed!

The soft opening was great! We got togo tacos – No limit on $1 tacos through August (I think)! The blue corn tortillas were a nice surprise, as were the house made sauces on the side.

My family and I got takeout for dinner this evening. We were excited given the rave reviews so far but were pretty disappointed. Between the three of us we tried all 5 of the taco flavors. Our favorite by far was the Birria, although it was a bit dry it was flavorful. One of my tacos was incorrect in the order which was disappointing. The WORST of them all, was what we think was either the al pastor or steak asada meat. It tasted unlike anything any of us had ever tried before, comparable to dog food or maybe horse meat. I don’t think we will be returning sadly 🙁

It just opened up this week and you should get there soon cuz they have FIVE tacos for $5. I had five different ones chicken, pork, steak and chorizo. They were all yummy! They gave you the lime slices and green and red hot sauses on the side. In September they will open up with a full menu and for breakfast as well. I’m going to have to try that out.

Super great place to stop and have a quick bite for friends and family. My family and I come here all the time! The inside is clean and well managed, they only have a server a day so there is some delay sometimes, but its not a large place so no room to be overwhelmed
