Great food at a good price. The fries are the best and loaded even better. The pork is awesome. He smokes his own bacon. The burgers are a solid bet. Potato salad and everything seems home made. Excellent eats! Hit the store next door for drinks while your food is being made.

One of the best burgers I have had on the island ! The prices are great also. My wife had the cheeseburger with potato salad I got one of the specials Bacon Avocado Cheddar burger with fries. The burger was huge and the fries cooked perfectly

Excellent one man operation. The fries aren’t the frozen bag variety, but hand cut. The owner is a nice guy. I’ve paid twice as much for a burger half as good on the mainland. Cheese burger is nicely seasoned. My wife loved the bacon blue cheese burger. Sad we only tried this on the last day while in the area, otherwise I’d have gone a couple times.

I can die a happy man knowing I’ve had the best burger on the Big Island! Do yourself a solid and hit this place up for lunch. Best burger I’ve had in a looooong time. Chill atmosphere, fresh locally sourced ingredients, best bacon I think I have ever had. You can tell from the first taste that this dude loves what he does! Seriously, if you don’t eat here, you aren’t living your best life!

We are consistently cared for with our love of a great burger at this location. Hard to beat -fresh ranchers beef, home made and cured thick bacon and smear of Danish blue cheese, fat chunk of heirloom tomato. You won’t even need the bun. Ask for your onion grilled! Delightful!

We were told that the food here was great and the prime rib did not disappoint! We loved the “hole-in-the-wall”, “off the beaten path” aspect of Taps. Order your food, go to the party store next door to purchase a beverage, then wait at a picnic table for your meal to arrive… Super friendly owner/chef … Now that it’s on our radar, Taps will be a must do each time we visit the Big Island.
