We’ve been sushi aficionados for years and one by one our favorite spots have closed. Most of the restaurants we’ve tried since had average sushi quality at best. Consequently we had never really paid much attention when Tappi Sushi opened in our Tierrasanta neighborhood but we finally decided to try it. To our great surprise the sushi quality is excellent and the preparation and presentation are also good. We’re always served with a smile and have come to know the staff by name. Absolutely worth a try – especially if you live in Tierrasanta! Thx to Delon (our server) and Bill (our sushi chef)!

I have been visiting Chiba for many years now. My kids love their food. Their staff is really good and friendly. The food ia always fresh. My go to’s are always the sushi poppers, salmon skin handroll, and any other roll.

Food is edible and standard quality for sushi. The atmosphere is definitely lacking, no one smiles. Although service was well it wasn’t exceptional by any means. The building is very grey gloomy and very under maintained; Stains on walls. Crumbs all over floor. I would say it’s not bad.. also not 5 star. Solid 3 star eatery.

Had a fantastic dinner at Tappi Sushi in Tierrasanta tonight. The Spicy Garlic Edaname and Crunchy Potato roll. Sooo good. They are so creative and delicious. I’m so glad we have this little gem in Tierrasanta. Only problem I had was to decide what to eat! Do many choices.

2nd visit: Got a basic Philly roll to go. $10 plus tip for below grocery store quality. Old rice. Skinny roll. Poorly rolled. Sad.
Had lunch here. It was kind of hot and stuffy. The food was okay, I guess it’s on par for Tierra Santa. The service was overly paranoid. This place is not cheap either so when you combine all of that you end up with about three stars.

This place is really nice. The servers are friendly. There’s no wait. It is cozy. The place is always clean. They are quick both to take care of you and to get the order ready at your table. Food is delicious as well. The best is that it is quiet even with the TV on. Great restaurant. Good prices! (Pics: Fried rice with seafood and tierrasanta fried roll)

Very well pleased with Thier style of to-go ordering. Everything was well organized and spaced apart. Presentation for the food was actually quite elegant (as very difficult to do for to-go items). Sushi was still warm (fried sushi), fresh tasting and ready to go.
Sushi poppers were my favorite.
