Hidden gem in oc. More like a locals bar, but the food was fantastic!!!!! Highly recommend the loaded fries with the signature beer cheese. Javi and Eric were great- love the crushes- had the creamciscle and lemon. Regulars were very welcoming. Perfect spot for having some drinks and catching up with friends- unpretentious. Definitely will return.

02/’26 Stopped in on a Sunday night when it was not busy. Bar service was excellent. We were greeted promptly & given a rundown of the menu including happy hour info. Had the crab-cake special which was highly recommended by the bar we’d previously left, but it was too salty for my liking. Pretzels were good. Smash burger was big & meaty. The loaded fries (my words-can’t remember name) came with all kinds of good stuff & appeared to be fresh cut as they were kinda in curls, making them a miz of a crunchy fry and a thick cut potato chip. It was loud, but it is a bar :). Including a mixed drink and a beer, after tip, it was $80 for the two of us, even after happy hour proces on the drinks and pretzels. I’d prob order a little diffently based on that next time.

I live on 139th street and I’m so mad it took me this long to find out how great Taphouse Tavern is. First, we usually order carry out, every time I order, I get the most patient people taking my call. They let me know the off season specials and don’t rush me. I really really appreciate that. They are nice when you pick up the food and the food….. I love the burgers. I love love the Tapped Up fries!!! My son loves the chicken bites. Tonite we are trying the steak and cheese, 12$ off season special and I’m excited. I would definitely give taphouse tavern a try when you’re in town!! Oh the pasta salad is delicious too!

Cheesesteak egg rolls were pretty good. $17 for 8 small wings with almost no flavor. I ordered the honey old bay wing and barely tasted the honey let alone the seasoning. Food is definitely overpriced for what it is and that is not much more than a snack or standard bar food. I would go back for a beer but would go elsewhere for food

Great bar vibe to this place. I will say the food and vibe go hand in hand the vibe makes you feel right like family while the food gives you that upscale dining but that cheap money saving price. Always a new weekly special. An I will say the homemade cheesecake is to die for.

We used to absolutely love this place but it’s really gone downhill in recent years.
They used to have the best peanut butter and (habanero) jelly wings. Last time we visited we asked if they have them back on the menu (as we’ve been told they would be returning) and the staff was SO rude telling us they haven’t had them in years and asked if we were dumb (who even talks like that?) They could have just told us no.
Honestly the food is just mid nowadays and the staff is rude and kind of sucks. There are plenty of better places with better service…

My family and I popped in during lunch the other day and the bartender was our server. He did a great job providing us with ample options of his favorite foods on the menu when we asked and was easy to converse with. But the overall winner was the Cream of Crab soup. We are huge cream of crab soup lovers and have tried it at many different places. In all of OCMD that we have tried – this takes the cake! Not only is it delicious, but you get a hearty serving that two people can share and it’s not insanely priced. From the waitstaff to the cook in the back who spoke with us about the soup – we overall had a great experience and will be back every time we make it back to OC. There’s a high likelihood we’ll be ordering a few orders of the soup to take home and freeze to have on hand when we want it because it’s JUST THAT GOOD.

What this place lacks in size makes up for with food, drinks, atmosphere and service. We visited for the first time on a Sunday night and were waited on by Dalton, the bar tender. This guy was awesome. He was genuinely concerned with making sure our visit was a great experience and made us feel completely welcomed in this establishment. This guy has upper management/ owner material written all over him. He knows his business and treats people with care and respect. All around a great experience! A+

Went last Saturday. I had a great time. I got to talk to the bartenders, Jess, Frank, and Megan. They were super friendly. Plus I loved the draft beer selection. I had some crab balls for an appetizer (wow they were really good), and a cheesesteak for dinner. Great food and great company!

The smash burger I ate was delicious. The fries and tots were very good as well. Everyone I was with enjoyed the food. The indoor area was very loud so everyone in my party agreed to eat outside instead. The service was good, but we did wait a long time because only one waitress was serving the outside area, which was filled to capacity at the time.
