Food was absolutely delicious but a little cold when received which was kind of off putting when we come in to order food and sat and waited for it to be made. My husband got Cajun chicken and I got the ox tails. Would definitely buy again and recommend to anyone. Also when you are there try the Passion fruit juice. It’s SOO GOOD!

Great ownership great food there’s something there for everyone! Loved the mac & cheese. Tried oxtail for the first time it was tasty! Very hearty & rich. Like roast beef, carrot & potato night at home. Got some plantains & sweet potato pudding. Good atmosphere. Definitely a taste of the islands right here in Zanesville, Ohio. Save this to your list snd Stop by. Great for food on the go as well.

Amazing food! We were visiting from out of town and this was our #1 must visit for Zanesville. Did not disappoint!

Ordered the curry chicken, oxtail and jerk chicken and all of it was absolutely delicious. Service was top notch too.

A wonderful hidden gem! A true example of a little hole-in-the-wall in all the best ways. A simple diner-type environment (the building still holds the marks of having been a diner in a past life), this place was unique, authentic and INCREDIBLE food! The owner was very nice, explained the menu and helped us choose our dishes. We each got a different dish and all three were incredible! Highly recommend!! The juices were amazing too!

I stopped in here for the first time last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The owner was very friendly and helpful answering all our questions. The jerk chicken was delicious. The cabbage was my favorite side but the rice and beans were all flavorful. The fried plantains were excellent and probably my favorite out of what I tried. The sweet potato pudding had a very unique flavor and was not something I had tried before.

This is a must try if you are in Zanesville and a place I will definitely be returning to sample more of the menu.

A family member and I chose this place as a middle point to meet. We each drove an hour and a half from opposite directions and we chose this establishment to eat. We agreed, after our experience with the owner and the food, we will return and this will be the designated meeting spot from now on!

The food was very well prepared and fresh!

The curry goat was mild but flavorful and incredibly creamy and tender.

The oxtail was absolutely out of this world. My only gripe is I should have bought more to take home but I didn’t have a cooler.

The jerked chicken was tender, flavorful and addictive.

The rice and beans, although simple, was full of flavor and fresh.

The cabbage was the spotlight for us. That was the first thing we each finished. I’m not sure what all spices were in it, all I know is I wanted to eat more but I was just too full!!!

Fried plantains and the sweet potato pudding were so perfect to end a very perfect meal.

The owner was so incredibly kind. I asked if it was ok if my party sat and chatted and how we both drove from far away and he said we could continue to sit and talk so my family and I could catch up with one another. This place is a diamond in the rough. I have a Caribbean place near where I live and it is not nearly as delicious nor authentic as Tapas Caribbean Kitchen. Bravo!!!!! I cannot wait to come back!!!!!

The food was insanely good. I don’t know how such a good Caribbean cook ended up in Zanesville but I am thankful.

I got the curry chicken with sides of sweet potato and fried plantain and passion fruit juice. The curry chicken was flavorful and soft, way beyond my expectations for flavor and preparation. I actually wish I got two servings now. I also wish I got the rice and cabbage (as recommended) because both my sides were sweet. The sweet potato pudding had such rich flavor though, so no regrets. The passion fruit juice is made in house so do not miss out on that.

I ordered Jerked chicken, macaroni and cheese, cabbage and 2 beef patties. The jerked chicken was just slathered in sauce, not like real jerked chicken. The macaroni and cheese was so dry I couldn’t eat it. The cabbage was really good. I am not sure if it was a different owner, because when I went last year it was good. I’ll jist continue to go to Columbus.

Quite literally the best Caribbean food I have eaten in more than 10 years! And we have traveled to Texas, New York, Los Angeles, and lived in Miami amongst many other places.

We enjoyed the homemade hibiscus and soursop juices. The hibiscus tastes like unsweetened cherry juice mixed with a popsicle. The soursop tastes exactly like a low sugar pina colada drink – both very delicious!

Our entrees: Whole red snapper was tender, flavorful and well seasoned. Paired with fresh pickled vegetables and a huge portion of cabbage so addictive that I didn’t want to stop eating it even though I was no longer hungry.

My husband ordered the snapper filet. It was good but a much heavier texture to the fish and it didn’t taste like it was freshly caught (as the bone-in does).

We topped the order with fried plantain which was delicious and everything but the cabbage was cooked to order.

We took one of the sugar cakes to go – a $1 coconut and brown sugar treat that looks amazing!

I give this restaurant every thumbs up I have ☺️ and I’m thankful it’s not in my city else we would never leave! Congratulations on a wonderful cultural food experience. We look forward to coming back soon.
