Ordered the curry chicken, oxtail and jerk chicken and all of it was absolutely delicious. Service was top notch too.
This is a must try if you are in Zanesville and a place I will definitely be returning to sample more of the menu.
The food was very well prepared and fresh!
The curry goat was mild but flavorful and incredibly creamy and tender.
The oxtail was absolutely out of this world. My only gripe is I should have bought more to take home but I didn’t have a cooler.
The jerked chicken was tender, flavorful and addictive.
The rice and beans, although simple, was full of flavor and fresh.
The cabbage was the spotlight for us. That was the first thing we each finished. I’m not sure what all spices were in it, all I know is I wanted to eat more but I was just too full!!!
Fried plantains and the sweet potato pudding were so perfect to end a very perfect meal.
The owner was so incredibly kind. I asked if it was ok if my party sat and chatted and how we both drove from far away and he said we could continue to sit and talk so my family and I could catch up with one another. This place is a diamond in the rough. I have a Caribbean place near where I live and it is not nearly as delicious nor authentic as Tapas Caribbean Kitchen. Bravo!!!!! I cannot wait to come back!!!!!
I got the curry chicken with sides of sweet potato and fried plantain and passion fruit juice. The curry chicken was flavorful and soft, way beyond my expectations for flavor and preparation. I actually wish I got two servings now. I also wish I got the rice and cabbage (as recommended) because both my sides were sweet. The sweet potato pudding had such rich flavor though, so no regrets. The passion fruit juice is made in house so do not miss out on that.
We enjoyed the homemade hibiscus and soursop juices. The hibiscus tastes like unsweetened cherry juice mixed with a popsicle. The soursop tastes exactly like a low sugar pina colada drink – both very delicious!
Our entrees: Whole red snapper was tender, flavorful and well seasoned. Paired with fresh pickled vegetables and a huge portion of cabbage so addictive that I didn’t want to stop eating it even though I was no longer hungry.
My husband ordered the snapper filet. It was good but a much heavier texture to the fish and it didn’t taste like it was freshly caught (as the bone-in does).
We topped the order with fried plantain which was delicious and everything but the cabbage was cooked to order.
We took one of the sugar cakes to go – a $1 coconut and brown sugar treat that looks amazing!
I give this restaurant every thumbs up I have ☺️ and I’m thankful it’s not in my city else we would never leave! Congratulations on a wonderful cultural food experience. We look forward to coming back soon.
