While the Pebble Beach Resort is known worldwide as one of the most iconic Golf and Corporate meeting destination. Once you get there, there is only one place where golfers, locals and visitors from all around the world come to eat and to be seen and that is the “Tap Room”. Tucked away inside the Lodge of Pebble Beach Resort (Five Star) this restaurant combines great food, first class service and an atmosphere that you will never forget. Whether your name is Nicklaus, Palmer, Tiger or just Tom every player (Champion or not) of Pebble Beach Golf course ends up in the Tap Room after the round for a pint of beer and one of their “world famous” Burgers or one of their renown Steaks to celebrate the experience. Tracey and I have been coming here for over (30) years, and every time we walk into this cozy (warm) room it’s as if we are back in Scotland or Ireland. The room is always full of laughter, smiles coming from happy visitors who have made their golf pilgrimage to Pebble Beach come true. It is (truly) one of the most “joyous” of all dining rooms. Made even better after its recent renovation which expanded a back room for private corporate and private events. Its classic menu is highlighted by amazing well cooked Steaks, Burgers and their Chili & Cornbread (got to try). But (for us) it’s “The People” that makes this place so very special to always come back to. Everyone from the hostesses that greet you with bright smiles to Bartenders (like, Mike & Vince) who make a mean “martini” and servers (like, Patty) who will go out of there way to help make your experience a memorable one…they all are amazing. So if you want to get the (reel) feel of Pebble Beach and its rich history…check out the Tap Room where locals and visitors alike meet up on the Monterey peninsula. For Tracey and I (apologies to Disneyland) The Tap Room remains one of our “Happiest places on earth”.

Stopped by after a long day playing so we needed an espresso martini and a snack. Ordered an artichoke to share and it took a lot to come out, it seemed like something happened in the kitchen. Overall the drink and experience was good.

Pros: very kind and accommodating staff. Quick service. Easy parking.
Cons: very limited breakfast options. My beef omelette had no visible beef! Potatoes were supposed to be replaced with mushrooms but there was only 3-4 mushrooms as garnish, not as much as a side. Dishes were very basic and plain; not any sides or decorations.
The decor and atmosphere was old and kinda depressing.

Delicious food and good service. We stopped here after driving the 17 Mile Drive, and it was great. The Potato Skins were so good. I would go back for those alone. Everything else we had was great too.
The service was good (our waiter was very nice), but a little on the slow side considering they weren’t very busy when we went (took a while to get seated then to actually get service to the table).

I read some of the reviews people post here complaining about prices. Take a Hint….maybe they know what they can get for what they offer. The place is packed, and they certainly don’t need your bargain hunting butt in a valuable seat. Take yourselves to Denny’s in Seaside for that attitude. Now let’s talk about the food….. my buddy and I eat here a couple times a year. I try something new each time. My buddy gets the Filet prepped “black & blue” style. It’s awesome. All the staff is great and provide fun conversation to make it a homey feel. Bartenders are at the top level of talent. Waiters know their profession well too. Highly recommended. Also I like the temporary set up just as much as the location that is currently being remodeled. It was pretty busy last night, so its a good idea to get reservations. You can bring your own bottle of wine too. We do it all the time.

Came in here for dinner after a full day of golf. Place was pretty busy but we got were able to get a table quickly. Service was amazing, quick and very efficient. Our server Marcos was very knowledgeable with the menu and had great recommendations. Did can’t out quick, portion sizes are big and also very tasty. Great spot to eat and drink at Pebble Beach.

Excellent restaurant with great ambiance. Service is second to none. The Korean Beef Skewers were described to us by our waiter as being as soft as butter and they did not disappoint, extremely delicate, tender and juicy with great flavor. We ordered the Delmonico Steak and as we were sharing our waiter had it served on two plates and even though we asked for our steak well done it was tender, juicy with great flavor. The sides of roasted sweet potatoes and green beans complimented the main course very well. Highly recommended. Looking forward to dropping by again.

The food here is superb, even if you’re sitting at the bar! A must try is the steaks. Cooked perfectly and so much flavor! We went during a football game on a Sunday so it was quite loud in here but the place was fully packed as well. The service is amazing and attentative and the bartender, Jason was right there when we needed him without having to ask. He also provided excellent recommendations for the meal. I’ve also tried the Rueben and Meatloaf sandwiches, the sliders, Mac & Cheese, and the potato skins. Can’t go wrong with anything you try here.

Dined there on 19Oct2025.
If you don’t want to read my experience, recommend avoiding this and go to The Bench or Pèppoli. Those two places are leaps and bounds better than The Tap Room. Both are Pebble Beach restaurants.
So I’m not one to make reviews because I don’t want to tarnish a place but my wife and I went to the Tap Room for dinner soon after they reopened for renovations. For a place that you would expect quality service for the price you’re paying, it was a bad experience.
When I tried to make reservations, they wouldn’t let me mention it was for my first anniversary – we are locals so we didn’t have a place on the resort for them to add these notes to our profile. Anyways, we get there, they place us at the table right next to the main entrance where everyone is checking in, which is a bar area and not in the dining area which had a better ambiance. The chairs were close together so servers and guests were hitting my chair about every 30 seconds. It got annoying.
Our waiter didn’t greet us or ask if we were visiting the resort, celebrating anything, etc., just handed us the menus and walked away. He’d place our silverware on the table instead of on the mats that were in front of us so just another knock. When we ordered, there was no recommendations given or anything but we knew ahead of time what we wanted. We still would like to hear if there are specials or recommended dishes but that was not the case.
When we got the steaks (NY Strip and Tenderloin) they weren’t bad in the sense they were the appropriate doneness we asked for (med/med-rare), but it was heavily burnt/charred on the outside so thankfully we got the red wine sauce to cover the flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes and jalapeño cream corn side dishes were really good so definitely get that if you can.
Now for dessert. We were celebrating so I wanted to get something. I tell the waiter we’re celebrating and would like to get the half order sundae. Comes back 10 minutes later saying they aren’t doing that currently after he mentioned they do half orders. I say to my wife, “well it’s our first anniversary I’d like do get something” and we get just a scoop of ice cream. The waiter then asked me “oh you’re actually celebrating something?” No… I don’t just say stuff like that or dress up for my health. He wasn’t getting it. We did overhear him also forget that it was the table’s beside us birthday celebration. But another table he was super chatty with them so it appears if you are a regular or something that they care but not someone who wants to have a special meal at a steakhouse.
I do want to say that the server filling up drinks (younger man) was awesome. He was on it, service with a smile, definitely needed a raise for the service he gave.
I talked to the assistant manager of this place afterwards just to tell them it was a bad experience for a first anniversary. I said I’m not trying to get that waiter fired but just make adjustments for the next people who celebrate, that they don’t have to have the same experience. Left with a handshake and a card to call for future reservations. Nothing comped or anything. I wasn’t looking for that either but for a place like Pebble Beach, I’d expect better service to their customers.

Have been going here for years and have never been disappointed with the food or drinks. We’ve eaten the following, and they’re really good . French onion soup, prime rib chili with cornbread, kobe brie burger with truffle wedge potatoes,
A5 wagyu and much more. If you like desserts, the southern coconut cake is great. We know the husband of the former pastry chef that created the recipe. If you like sundaes, then have The Taproom Sundae, which is really huge and has double vanilla bean ice cream, warm buttered bananas, honey almonds, cookie pieces, sticky hot fudge. To get an idea how big it is from the picture, look at the glass of water next to it. It’s the best sundae ever imo.
