My family had the best night at Rap and Barrel Olympic Village!
Our server, Sophie is the best and clearly lives her job. Our shared applies, wine and beer was the perfect antidote to the rain…we sat outside so puppy Bedford could join us.

I went to Tap & Barrel for the first time with my friend and had such a great experience! We ordered a bottle of white wine for the table, along with the truffle fries, maple bacon wings, and a Margherita pizza — and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were on point, and you can tell the food is made with quality ingredients. The atmosphere was lively but still perfect for catching up and enjoying good company. I’d definitely recommend coming here with your loved ones. Can’t wait to come back!

The chicken wings I ordered threw me off because the pieces were really small, like for a baby chick. We ordered the Margarita Pizza but it tasted simple there was nothing outstanding about it. The lobster roll was cold and was not memorable, especially for $30. The lychee drink came in a really thin cup which made it hard to drink out of, since everything looked congested. The fried macaroni needed to be creamer. It had cheese, but not to the point where it’s gooey.

Update: 10/9/2025 — I decided to get a light dinner here before my friends burlesque show. The new fall menu has a few great entries like the squash soup (4/5) and Crispy Brussels
So, i was excited to try this new salmon dish on the menu… some great flavours and beautiful plating/presentation but the salmon was a bit overdone/dry. One more thing: the red quinoa should be cooked “like rice” and not fried in a pan… it was kind of hard and inedible and not fully cooked/fluffy. This would have been a 6/5 if not for those 2 notes. Harissa Salmon with Red Quinoa 3.5/5 (i had high hopes)

Update 8/21/2025 — Hey, Unfortunately, I adjusted the service score here after the last 2 visits… bar service is a bit uneven, tbh. More consistency would make it easier to come back.
✨️ ✨️Update: 8/1/2025: I just wanted to acknowldge your wonderful hostesses, Kenzie, Melissa & Holly for making me feel so welcome. I was coming from paddleboarding with my 2 pups (certified service dogs) and there was literally no issue… thank you for being so awesome and accomodating for us

Great happy hour here, and its one of the better local chains. The falafel in the Mediterranean power bowl is terrific and crunchy and doesn’t feel like too “heavy” an eat. Will definitely be back (also their chips and guac are )

The food was not bad for having so many things on the menu, but nothing really stood out. Our waiter got us the wrong drinks. Then the truffle waffle fries also came out without any of the truffle smell so he got us another one but it was still the same so I guess it was just it way it is.

I came on Friday, ordered the burger and was quite disappointed. First off, the burger had no flavor whatsoever. Secondly, it was a very low quality patty. You could tell that it was not a homemade burger and most likely a frozen puck burger. In the U.S., Mexico or Brazil, you always get a real handmade burger. Why do Canadians accept such low quality? The service was fantastic. Our waiter was an Australian guy who was very attentive and kind. He gave the birthday boy donuts. The atmosphere is also amazing. The biggest disappointment was the burger. I feel that at that price you could serve your customers a real 100% beef handmade patty.
The mac and cheese was excellent.

The day we came and ended up being happy hour all day. I was super happy to see that they have their vegan/plant base bowl included for happy hour. I really love the food and I also liked the house wine. I’ll definitely be back for happy hour.
Aesthetically I found this restaurant okay. The table we were sat at the back, kind of just felt a bit isolated and out of the way however it was okay.

It was my first time visiting this Tap & Barrel. Our meal was amazing both the appetizers and the main course. I definitely recommend the Hummus with flatbread. The atmosphere and service was fantastic plus if you sit outside you get a great view. Definitely check out this place if you want a great meal and a fun atmosphere. We went for Happy Hour and there were some great choices.

We had a fantastic experience this evening! From the start, Claudia at the front accommodated us (table of 8) with an awesome patio spot and she was so lovely to chat with! Then our server~Cassidy~ made the experience complete! She was great and friendly. She kept waters topped up, drinks flowing and food was received quickly! We were there for way too long talking and not once were we rushed to leave or feel like we should go. 363!!!
Definitely will be back!

If your a dog owner then this is a great spot for you. The best days to go are on happy hours. On the weekends the brunch is pretty standard, nothing special. The patio upstairs has a nice view towards downtown.
The service is pretty corporate standard.
Our server took good care of my dog with lots of water and attention. Really good service here. Great place to drink and socialize.
