Very loud. Service was great. Coffee was good.

Wife’s Blueberry waffles was good (though the grits have zero seasoning in them).

I had “The Mess”… It was not bad, but also was not great. I could only eat about half of it. Gravy had zero seasoning. Sausage gravy appeared to be made with smoked link sausage, instead of breakfast sausage. So it was severely missing the notmal sausage gravy flavor.

I’ve been wondering about this cafe for a while and I absolutely loved it. Budget friendly, generous portions, and a happy atmosphere. I can’t believe I didn’t come here sooner. The pies are a MUST! I’m used to eating cold pies but this one was still warm! Homemade, excellent, and authentic, this is a cute little spot in town you must check out. Will return soon!

We loved the food and service here. It’s an extremely busy place, so be prepared to wait. We went there on a Friday and waited for about 15-20 mins for the food to arrive. But that’s understandable because they were packed. However, our server was very attentive and checked on us frequently if our coffee mugs we
re full or if we needed anything. Amazing service despite being so busy. We ordered a bunch of stuff, including Belgian waffles, sausage and gravy, eggs, bacon, hash browns, etc and everything tasted perfect. I wish they had a branch closer to where we live

My favorite place in Mineral Wells! I strongly recommend this little diner to everyone traveling through. Its homestyle cooking and they do it very well. From the fried bologna sandwiches, the chicken fried steak, cat fish, biscuits and gravy and all the sides, Tanays Cafe is one my favorite places to dine.

You have GOT to get The Mess if you want to taste Southern cooking at its finest!!! The biscuits are so tender that you don’t need a knife to cut them. The coffee is terrific and the help is so friendly! I have no idea how good the pies are ~ we are always so stuffed we never have room for dessert. I guess we’ll have to start with the pie first thing the next time we go. And we are most definitely going back!

Very small quaint place. Our friend had a walker which several things made it very hard. First the ramp out front was very steep and caused her to start stepping backwards. So the west part of the ramp is not advisable unless you can hold the person’s weight. The small incline at the front door was another challenge since you had to lift the walker up a bit and hold your footing at the same time. Again, you have to be able to support the person’s weight going in the door. The tables are really close together so getting her walker down the aisle without hitting chairs was the third obstacle. Finally where to put the walker, folded up, was the next one. The place was packed so we propped it up against the window sill.
They had specials so my brother got chicken fried steak, our friend got catfish, Mom got breakfast and I got grilled cheese with bacon. Mine had a lot of grease. Our friend loved her catfish though!
On a scale of 5 I would give this place a 3. The server, Dee, was very kind but was too busy to be attentive.
The food was really greasy.
The restaurant was clean but some silverware was not. The tea was excellent.

This place used to be named Jones’ Cafe. I guess it was sold a couple of years ago. It used to be owned by my aunts family. I have some very good memories here. This remains a great place to eat under the new ownership. I ordered the Doi le Bacon Cheeseburger my wife ordered the Club Sandwich. They were both very good. We also ended up sharing a slice of freshly baked Coconu Cream pie. If you are ever in Mineral Wells Texas and you are hungry you should stop by. It’s a small place where locals eat. You know it’s good.

Delightful family diner. Loved the service and the atmosphere.

I was ready to pay cash, based on all the warnings I had read. But they now take cards (with a surcharge).

We got blueberry pancakes with bacon, sausage, and a side of grits. All were delicious and exactly what was being craved.
