We ended up at this restaurant while we were on our way to our dinner date at another restaurant, thinking this restaurant would be closed. However, the server made sure that nothing would be closed, and we could have our dinner as long as we wanted. So we decided to give it a try, and I am glad we did. Firstly, we were not expecting such delicious and unique food at this place. We are fans of Asian food and we love this place and its unique dishes. We especially enjoyed their rainbow carrots, bowls, and veggie ramen with tofu. Everything was amazing. Their drinks were also great. We actually ordered one more item after finishing dinner just to try another dish, haha. Everything looks yum and well presented. Overall, it’s a great place in downtown Bozeman, with wonderful staff and a great atmosphere, along with delicious food. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. Even our Airbnb host recommended this place.

Food: food was really good with great flavors. I enjoyed the chicken and waffles the most. The portions are quite small for the price. The only downside.
Service: Server was kind and knowledgeable.
Atmosphere: Very small restaurant. Recommend getting a reservation. It did have some fun music!

Had dinner here with my teenage daughter, and we both were so impressed with the food and staff. We live in Seattle, which has a plethora of great Asian restaurants. Tanoshii would definitely fit in here. We had the caesar salad, Korean fried chicken “kfc,” the chicken and waffles and more, and it was all fantastic. Okonomiyaki waffles were crispy on the outside and tender and savory. I think it’s very clever to use it to make a waffle and serve it as “chicken and waffles” with kewpie/maple-soy sauce and furikake and oko. It was a beautiful dish and the flavors were literally perfect. It’s the kind of thing that would be easy to mess up pr turn into a gross appropriation of the dish, but they nailed it. We found chunks of pickles on a couple of the dishes, too, and they were delicious. Our server was busy, but took the time to talk with is about the food, the city, their beer selections, and more. He was friendly in an earnest way, not just a guy hustling for tips. I highly suggest Tanoshii for dinner in Bozeman.

Modern authentic Japanese cuisine in the heart of Bozeman downtown. Loved the ambience, gives a New York style bistro restaurant style vibe. Knowledgeable and friendly servers. Tried out a sake cocktail mango ginger which was spiced and out of the world. Their ramens were great and we have chilly green beans

This place has a wonderful atmosphere, quality sake selection and great apps as well as a variety of delicious Ramens.
Their egg in the Tonkatsu rame I ordered was perfectly soft boiled. Their tempura octopus was well prepared and gad an amazing dipping sauce to go along with it.

Mission Statement: To provide Bozeman with Izakaya inspired, Montana comfort. This place is amazing – top quality ingredients, creative menu items, superb taste. Austin recommended the Chicken and Waffles (what a twist!) and Local Oyster Mushrooms. We also had the Taiwanese Noodle Bowl with a soft boiled soy egg. Everything was absolutely fabulous. Great saki, too. Our server, Olivia, did an outstanding job.

Tanoshii is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in downtown Bozeman. The best food I had there was the Agadashi (mellow fried tofu) and Korean fried chicken (the crunchy combination was to die for!). For the main meal I had the Sutadon (Pork belly bowl). I think that the addition of an egg made it better, so I’d recommend that. For desert, I had the Mochi donuts and I’ve got to say that they were awesome. They came with a sweet sauce and powdered sugar, which was quite nice because the donuts themselves were quite plain. Overall, the food was very good but quite heavy so I would get some vegetable dishes if I were to go again.

Really enjoyed eating here! We had a large group and they were very accommodating. The aesthetics of the restaurant are very pleasing. I could imagine this being a wonderful spot for an intimate dinner conversation, or just an easy hang with a group of friends at the bar seating. The food was excellent, there were some good options on the menu, but not too many that it would be overwhelming. The servers were kind and knowledgeable and were just the right amount of classy, not overly talkative or interruptive, but seemed to know when to interject into our conversation. Great experience, highly recommended.

Delicious ramen, beautiful decor, convenient location. The miso soup is a great starter, and the pork ramen is my favorite entree.

Of all the places we have tried in Bozeman this is one of the best. The food is excellent. The Pork, Ramen is delicious, rich and well balanced flavors. Everything we tried here was great. Karaage chicken, curry, and Katsu all exceptional. Be sure to give the Mochi donut holes a try, delicious with a bit of lemon curd !
