Incredible Fresh Dim Sum and Must Try Bitter Melon! Just had a dinner at Tang Pavilion with friends. The food here is truly special: The bitter melon with honey sauce is a must order – it’s not bitter at all, but perfectly sweet & savory. The osmanthus honey sauce really elevates the freshness of the bitter melon. The Dim Sum is the freshest in NYC (you can tell it’s made in house, not premade like elsewhere). Braised Duck in Brown Sauce — rich and flavorful. The dish brought back warm childhood memories with its authentic presentations. Cozy vibe, great for groups and dates. And excellent value for the quality. We’re already planning our next visit.

Tang Pavilion 川悦食府 (65 W 55th St, New York, NY 10019) delivers bold flavors and modern Chinese dining in the heart of Midtown. The menu is designed for sharing and beautifully balances Sichuan spice with classic Hong Kong–style dim sum.

Standout dishes include the Peking Duck, Beef with Scallion, Stir-Fried Lobster with Ginger and Scallion, Dry Pot Sliced Beef, and the Crab and Pork Soup Dumplings. Each dish was well-executed, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented.

They also offer great lunch specials and have a private party room in the back, making it a solid option for both casual meals and group gatherings. A strong choice for elevated Chinese comfort food in Midtown.

We had a great Friday night at Tang Pavilion. Enjoy the amazing food and ambience. The staffs were very attentive and quick in serving the food. We enjoy some of the most favorite dishes. One particular dish I love was the duck which reminded me of my childhood and mommy’s cooking. I also enjoyed the spicy grilled fish which is a signature szchuen dish. Frank is the manager and is super friendly. He introduced himself to our table and was very helpful in introducing their signature dishes. We also order some dim sum dishes which were also very delicious. I had to pack some home for my kids who loves dim sum. I just wished they have a private room so I can hold my future holiday dinners with my friends and my office staffs.

Came on their opening day under new ownership and the food was amazing. Service staff was super nice too. Everything we ordered was delicious especially the dim sum and Szechuan dishes. Our waiter told me that one chef is from Hong Kong and the other is from Sichuan so the dishes were super authentic. The Sichuan frying fish filet and spicy beef dishes were so flavorful and mouth numbingly spicy. The seafood in sizzling oil dish with fish filet and surf clam was great too. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes.

I’m pretty picky about Chinese food and this place hit the mark. The flavors were bold but clean, and everything we ordered tasted fresh. Service was attentive, and the pacing of the meal was just right, which made the overall experience very enjoyable. This place is definitely worth checking out. I’d 100% come back.

I always walked past this place after work, one day I decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was great and the service was great. I’m not a big fan of intestines but this was sooo good, I couldn’t stop eating it. It’s very crispy and flavored. I would definitely come back for it!

The food was sooo good. Some of the best Chinese food in the city! I had the shrimp with walnuts which was honestly the star of the night. Would definitely recommend to get that as someone who’s eaten this dish all my life, this is by far the best one I’ve ever had.
