I love desi food and have been eating at Tandoori in Des Plaines for years. Overtime there are things that have become disappointing. For one thing the food has become too spicy, and I can handle spicy food, but this is my 2nd or 3rd recent order where they made it too spicy, hard to eat without multiple cups of water. All that water after a meal will give most people a stomach ache! I have told them about it and they just laugh and say “sorry ma’am.” They need to learn how to make their marinade mild and then only add extra chili/red pepper after someone asks to make it spicy. Spicy food does not mean flavorful. Before my children could eat their bhiriyani(rice) but now they can’t. They have a new cook or different management and fail to understand customer special requests also. Then the wait time is absolutely absurd. They told me to come in 20-25 minutes, I literally waited 50 mins! Last time it was same, double wait time! When this happens they need to give a discount or coupon for next order. Waiting extra 5-10 mins is absolutely fine. Having people double wait time repeatedly is a failure of business! We have had back to back to back poor experiences.
Too bad, but we will no longer be giving our business to this restaurant anymore.

I had a disappointing experience with the food. The biryani was undercooked and lacked flavor. We ordered a full chicken kharai, but only received a few pieces, which was frustrating. To top it off, the beef kebab was almost raw. Overall, it was a letdown and not worth the money.

I had an excellent experience at Tandoori Restaurant! The food was full of authentic Pakistani flavor — especially the biryani, tandoori chicken, and Irani chai. Everything tasted fresh and was perfectly cooked. The staff were polite, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed.
The restaurant was clean, cozy, and welcoming — you can tell they really care about quality and customer satisfaction. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes, and the presentation was great too.
Definitely one of the best spots in the area for real Pakistani cuisine. Highly recommend to anyone craving flavorful food and warm service!

One of the best places in town. We tried beef haleem. Its taste was 10/10. Due to our good experience of eating haleem. we also ordered beef nihari for home to eat for next day. It was very delicious. I highly recommend this place.

I was in the area and as the name said, I wanted to get my children a good real Tandoori chicken. But it did not taste good. Everything else was good like the naan, mango lassi. Chutney and limes that were given. But the actual chicken we went there for was not good. Somehow we had to eat as we had already ordered. I regretted why I ordered that.

What a great place. While we were waiting for our food to be prepared, people were constantly coming in and getting take-out. That’s a sign the food is good. Well, we weren’t disappointed. The chicken was moist and flavorful, not dried out like other places. The rice was so tasty and there was so much of it. Fresh naan was awesome too. We will be back. Thank you for wonderful dishes.

I ate more than $100. The customer service was not right. I am not happy at all and I regret spending my money on food.

Good atmosphere, and service was fine. However:
1. Biryani was awful. It was at least week old, dry, and missing all the flavors. It should have been thrown out weeks ago.
2. Mutton Karhai was more like Mutton Korma. Tasted great but was not Karhai.
This was a 2nd visit. Most likely will not return.

Chai is very good.
Meat in Chicken Biryani looked a bit unfresh.
Chicken Chapli kabab had too much salt and was also not made with fresh meat.
Serivce and ambience is very good

Loveeee their Irani chai
Have been going there every other day or at least 3 times a week.
Tried biryani but didn’t like it much! Samosa is lil expensive and tasted alright!
