Horrible Experience.
We walk in to no greeting and a odd smell.
We look at the menu and were shocked at the prices which are so high compared to other places. The utensils were not cleaned properly. The name of restaurant was tandoori chicken but the dish “tandoori” was horrible, it had no taste whatsoever , it looked like they microwaved the leftover tandoori and sent us the food. Every other food was disappointing. The lassi looked liked a colored water. Would avoid if possible.

I’m always in search of a good Indian lunch buffet, and Tandoori Chicken does it as close to “authentic Indian” as I’ve found. Bursting with flavors in every dish, they serve some of the best Indian food that I’ve experienced in the New Orleans area. Perfectly spiced, I couldn’t ask for a better place to go for lunch.

It could be considered a “hole in the wall”, but if you’re looking for the real flavors of India, you’ve found your spot.

Sometimes culinary treasures are hidden behind red drapes…don’t judge a book by its cover!

The food is yummy and they have a buffet as well. They cooked our meal to order and the naan was spectacular. The server, Diana, was also very attentive and gave great suggestions.

A small, humble, and family run establishment. My wife and I went for the lunch buffet and found it to be very good. There was a regular customer present who volunteered the highlights that we needed to sample. They did not disappoint. The owner let me know that the fare was northern Indian, and indicative of the cuisine of her childhood. We enjoyed it very much.

I love this place so much. I routinely drive about 30 minutes for the buffet and its so worth it 🙂 It’s unpretentious, consistently delicious Indian food prepared by a truly sweet family in a tiny strip mall. Veggie and meat options are equally wonderful, dessert is a dream. Cannot recommend highly enough !

Food is fresh and delicious. While I’m not Indian in ethnicity, I would consider this pretty authentic Indian food. It’s is locally owned and very well up kept hole in the wall. From the outside it looks like any other restaurant in a strip mall but on the inside it is very put together and classy. A great spot for lunch !! I always want more food not because I’m still hungry, but because it’s that good !!!

OK, when you walk into Tandoori Chicken you might have second thoughts, but give it a try. We have been eating at TC for many years, first at two prior locations and now here. The owners might not have spent a lot of money making the place look appealing, but the food is always great. We eaten at good Indian restaurants all over the country and have been to other, nicer looking Indian restaurants here in town, but I like the food here better than any of the others. It always has a lot of flavor.

I’ve eaten here a few times now, and yes it isn’t the cleanest place but it’s absolutely delicious. The “hole in the wall” places are always the best, especially for the price. I’ve never seen any bugs or had any specific issues with the cleanliness but even if I had i would still eat there. Generous portions and friendly staff too!

I have read the other reviews. It is a little dirty, it is an old building and there is a gross bar next door as well as some other food store on the end. At first, I didn’t think I was going to be able to eat there because of the bugs too. BUT, the food is outstanding, the people are great, and the buffet during the week has samosas on it!. I have seen rats inside of very good restaurants in the quarter. Not sure if the bugs here are because of the strip mall or the restaurant, but I have seen the health inspector there twice and they are still open. I eat there as often as I can and is the best Indian food in town, in my opinion.

The best Indian food I’ve had in the city. Butter Chicken, Curry, and Naan are awesome. Though I haven’t liked anything else on the menu that I’ve tried, those three items make the place worth it. The lunch buffet is great, and they usually have a lamb curry on the weekend buffet. They can sometimes be a little inconsistent, that would be my only complaint, but that’s true for a lot of small family shops.

Salt n Pepper is the only other Indian restaurant in the city that I like. Hated Nirvana and Taj. I still haven’t tried Saffron on the west bank.
