This is easily one of the absolute best North Indian restaurants in this part of town. Every dish was incredibly flavorful and beautifully prepared, the portions are very generous, and the ambience is warm and inviting. Tandoor truly impressed me, especially with dishes that are notoriously hard to get right in the U.S. If you’re someone who genuinely knows and appreciates authentic Indian flavors, this place stands out.
I tried the mutton korma, chicken malai boti kebab, and grabbed some chai to go—and the mutton korma alone is worth the visit. I can confidently say this is the best mutton curry I’ve had in a long time in the U.S., and trust me, I’ve had mutton at hundreds of places over the years. The flavor instantly reminded me of authentic preparations you’d find in certain parts of India—rich, deeply spiced, and incredibly well-balanced. The mutton itself was soft, tender, and cooked to perfection, absorbing all the flavors beautifully.
Yes, it was a bit on the pricier side, but it was absolutely worth it. The portion was generous, with noticeably more pieces of mutton than what you usually get on a standard plate, making the pricing feel fair and justified.
The chicken malai boti kebab was also excellent—juicy, creamy, and well-marinated, with that perfect char that comes from proper tandoor cooking. It complemented the richness of the curry very well and was clearly made with attention to detail.
Even the chai was a pleasant finish—comforting and satisfying, especially when taken to go.
Overall, Tandoor in Cedar Park delivers authentic, high-quality Indian food that doesn’t cut corners. We visited after seeing several good reviews and really liked the ambience. the decor is vibrant and the overall vibe is great.
We ordered the half chicken karahi, which had a beautiful presentation, but unfortunately it was very oily. While the menu mentions it serves 2–3 people, there was hardly any masala/gravy to enjoy with naan. A bit more gravy instead of oil would have made a big difference.
The chicken korma had a good amount of gravy, but the cardamom flavor was overpowering and didn’t taste like a typical korma.
The paneer karahi was decent overall but felt under-seasoned and could have used a bit more salt.
Service was on the slower side, we had to get the staff’s attention multiple times for basic requests.
Overall, the ambience is lovely and the food has potential, but the experience was just okay for us. With some improvements in balance, seasoning, and service speed, this place could be really good

I recently visited Tandoor by Kababque in Cedar Park after seeing all the buzz online, and I’m happy to say it lived up to the hype! If you are looking for authentic Pakistani flavors in the Austin area, this is the spot.
• Chicken Karahi: This was my first time trying a Karahi, and it was absolutely mind-blowing. The presentation was a total standout—they served it with a heated coal right on the table, which kept the dish piping hot and sizzling throughout the entire meal.
• Chai: We finished with the chai, which was excellent. It was served in a charming kettle, making for a very nice and traditional presentation.
Vibe & Service
The atmosphere of the restaurant is wonderful. It has a very nice vibe with soft music playing in the background, making it a great environment to bring the kids.
What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. The owner and the staff were incredibly polite and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
Overall, I loved this place. I’m so glad we have such an excellent Pakistani halal restaurant here in the Austin area. I’ll definitely be back!

As am a Chai explorer – I ordered the “Chai for 2” ($3.99) and absolutely loved it. The chai was rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced and the presentation was beautiful. Served in a traditional chenak on a mini wooden charpai tray with two Parle-G biscuits — such a nostalgic and thoughtful Pakistani/desi touch. Little details like that make the experience special.
The ambience is peaceful and vibrant, with colorful décor, umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, warm lighting, and the neon “All Is Well” sign that instantly sets a cozy mood. Service was quick and polite as well.
I’ll definitely be coming back soon to try their food .. if the chai alone is this impressive, the rest of the menu is probably outstanding too.
Highly recommended – a perfect spot for chai lovers and anyone who enjoys a calm, cozy Pakistani dining vibe.

Food was delicious!!! We will be back again and again. We tried the appetizer PAPDI CHAAT and ate to fast we didn’t get a picture of it. The mutton and chicken tikki masala were perfect. Kind people, incredible food. We love this place. Tiki Masala and Lamb brihani we watched this group of people speak rudely to the owner and staff but they had not been there that long. It was confusing to watch especially when this place is exceptionally consistently 10/10 experience. I knew I had to come on here and sing their praises!
