We came for a group luncheon and everything about it exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious; the butter chicken was rich and flavorful, the lamb curry was perfectly spiced and tender, and the vegetarian soup was comforting and full of depth. The rice and garlic naan complemented everything beautifully. Every dish was fresh, authentic, and clearly made with care.
One of the highlights of our visit was meeting the owner. He took the time to share his inspiring and encouraging story, which made the experience even more meaningful. You can truly feel the passion behind this restaurant.
I love supporting local businesses, especially ones that put so much heart into what they do. We can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend!

My husband and I stumbled across this gem while trying to find dinner on a Saturday night. I honestly do not understand why this place wasn’t packed! We sat right away and placed our order. Our server was friendly and super attentive. I ordered chicken tikka masala and butter nan bread. My husband ordered another chicken dish and got some sort of chicken soup. He was impressed! My husband is from India and there is nothing he loves more than chicken curry and dishes that remind him of home. My chicken tikka was so good. It had the perfect amount of sweet to savory and the naan was great! It was so affordable, but most importantly we left happy and full and cannot wait to return when we come back to Portland! 10/10

Loved the food. We ordered chicken biryani, lamb curry, garlic naan, gulab jamun and rasgullah. Everything is 10 on 10 except for the gulab jamun and rasgullah. They aren’t soft and meaty, even though the sweets were soaked in sugar syrup, the texture was dry and hard. They put a lot of effort on the non dessert items but almost zero on the dessert side. The staff is very friendly and was kind enough to give us two extra sweets. If you like Indian food, this is a must visit.

Super delicious, flavorful food. We had the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and chicken vindaloo and loved everything. Also love being able to choose the spice level. They also had a nice selection of wine and beer, including some options from India. Very reasonably priced. It would be nice if they had some music playing in the background, but otherwise a nice ambiance. Would definitely eat here again!

Delicious Indian cuisine although wish my chicken curry had more of a broth to dip the Nan bread. Loved the hot Marsala tea. Excellent customer service. Generous portions for the price point.
My husband asked for a 10 in spice for his lamb although it wasn’t spicy enough yet it was very good.

Hands down the best Indian restaurant in Portland. Came here based on friend’s recommendation and My family and I loved it!! The food was really good and probably the most authentic in Portland. Our favorites were the Tandoori chicken and Chicken Karahi. Great Ambience and outstanding service! If you can’t find street parking, there is a parking deck right next to the restaurant which made it super convenient. Would definitely come back again!!

I recently dined at Tandoor with friends and we all had an exceptional experience. The highlight of my meal was the butter chicken, which was incredibly moist and bursting with flavor. The richness of the sauce and the tenderness of the chicken made it one of the best I’ve ever had.
The staff was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. One of the standout features of this restaurant is the ability to customize the heat level of your dishes on a scale of 1 to 10, which allows for a personalized dining experience tailored to your preference.
Their vegetarian options were also impressive, with a wide variety to choose from. Each dish we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, ensuring that vegetarians are well catered to.
Overall, Tandoor is a highly recommended place with great energy and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re a fan of spicy food or prefer a milder taste, this restaurant has something for everyone. I’ll definitely be returning!
Side note: their prices are great for the portion sizes provided.

My Friend and I were driving through Portland, looking for a place to have dinner, and we stumbled upon Tandoor restaurant.
We started with the Vegetarian Platter for appetizer. It was a mix of samosas and other fried items. For entree, we ordered the Paneer Makhani and the Fish Curry, with a side of Garlic Naan. I thought both were excellent and had a LOT of flavor packed in. I honestly did not expect an Indian dish in Portland to have such authentic Indian flavor.
Service was also very good.
