The food was great and the service was decent but what ruined the night at least for me is the fact they put our party of 9 on the crap end of their “chef” table. I was seated at the end of the table right next to their kitchen door. One of their incompetent servers kept hitting my chair every time he walked by, EVEN after I spoke to him about it. Our server was fine but took forever getting us drink refills, including water which served in these ridiculous small glasses.
The woman who sat us should have kept us at the other end of the table, where she originally sat us. Our party was bigger than the other one, and they could’ve been sat at the other end.
Bottom line, don’t pick this place for a large group, more than 5 and you’ll get sat at what I now call the crap table. What a way to ruin our New Year’s celebration.
We arrived and were seated right away …then we waited approximately 17 minutes for anybody to even acknowledge us to take a drink order or give us water.
Finally, Hannah arrived, took our drink and appetizer order…. 15 minutes later, Appetizers arrived and we got no plates… Had to ask for plates… Drinks arrive shortly after… I ordered a Prosecco and it came in a large wine glass… Weirdly…but no water yet..
at that time we ordered our entrée.. Entrées arrived approximately 45 minutes after we had even entered the restaurant… I ordered the salmon and it was lukewarm… My husband ordered the ribs and they were perfectly hot… In addition, my salmon came in a large bowl that was so high like a salad bowl it came up to my chest, and it was strange eating out of it… It tasted good, but it would’ve been nice if it came out hot.
We have already decided we’re not gonna wait around for dessert so we just want to get our check… Drum roll please… 15 minutes goes by and finally the bartender notices that we’re sitting there so he comes over and gives us our check… Felt like we just waited and waited for everything here service was terrible understand that sometimes they’re short but that’s not my problem when you have a restaurant that is supposed to be this caliber You expect the service would be right up there… But it’s a complete mismatch! Probably not going back.
We were seated at 5:40 yet did not even receive water until 6:05. Our server did not even acknowledge us until nearly 6:10, a half hour after we had been seated!
The appetizers we ordered were pretty good, lamb skewers and cheese platter, but our problems started with the main course. My girlfriend and I both ordered the ribeye, and it was astonishingly bad for the egregious price tag. $38 for a steak so you probably expect something quality, like a prime grade right? Nope! We were served walmart level choice grade steak, half fat with the consistency of shoe leather. The chef clearly tried to salvage it as it was seasoned well, and the potatoes and vegetables were quite good, but the quality of meat was just unfixable. Never have I ever spent that kind of money on a steak to receive a low quality choice grade, it was shocking and incredibly disrespectful to their customers. It really shows the massive ineptitude on whoever is doing the ingredient ordering for Tandem.
My girlfriend has had many positive experiences in the past with Tandem, so it is truly sad they botched their Valentine’s Day dinner epicly. Will not be returning after a $180 bill for disgusting steak.
This was our first visit so we didn’t know what to expect. The brunch menu was packed with mouth watering options. The atmosphere felt upscale but not stuffy. The waitstaff was friendly and prompt.
We had Sunday brunch…each item ranged in cost from $18-$22. Worth every cent for a decadent plate of savory goodness.
