Took the family (wife and two teenagers) out to Tan Viet in Cabramatta last night and it was a solid experience. For an average of about $20 per person, the quality is hard to beat.
We ordered four different dishes to share:
Crispy Skin Chicken with Tomato Rice: Their signature—the skin was perfectly thin and crunchy as expected.
Crispy Skin Chicken with Noodles: The dry noodles are always a highlight with great texture.
Combination Noodle Soup: A hearty bowl with a good variety of toppings.
Hainanese Chicken with Rice: Simple, clean, and tasty.
Service was surprisingly traditional; the staff actually took our entire order by memory without using a notepad or digital device, which was impressive to watch in a busy place like this!
Just a heads up for those planning a visit: there is a 45-minute limit per table. It keeps the legendary queues moving, but it definitely makes for a fast-paced meal rather than a long, leisurely sit-down.
Overall, great food and efficient service. If you’re in Cabra and want a reliable meal that won’t break the bank, this is the spot.

Came and ate the dry mi thap cam, it was a little disappointing. Salty and lack flavour. Saw people were eating the crispy chicken rice. So had to come back the next day and ordered takeaway. It was very good, still crispy after taking it home. All good portions

Crispy chicken noodles pops up on every single discussion board when you Google “Cabramatta”.
We arrived at 6pm so there was no queue. When we finished our meal, there was a line forming; so do be early of you want to avoid lining up. Service was efficient so I assume patrons do get in quite quickly.
First things first, the crispy chicken. Is it roasted? Fried? Both? It is definitely CRISPY! And unlike many crispy chicken places, this one stays juicy and tender. No wonder they are highly recommended.
Banh Canh Cua – drop noodles with crab, pork, fish cake in a gooey, viscous soup was a delight. Tangy with a seafoody sweetness, the dish was delicious and slurpable. Great if you want something different.

Go to spot when I need a crispy chicken fix. The fish sauce paired with the red rice and chicken is delectable. The pickled vegetables adds acidity to each bite that cuts through the fried chicken. The restaurant is very consistent and you know what you’re getting each time you go there. Staff were also very attentive even though we had a larger group. The place does get busy over the weekends!

For dinner in Cabramatta, I was debating on the stores until I had walked past this particular noodle house on John street with a waiting line wrapping around the block. Seeing the hype, I decided to also wait in line to try it, after a bit I got seated in the lively restaurant and had my food delivered to me in a timely manner. I had ordered a wonton soup base with egg noodles which had a nice silky taste, perfect on a cooler night. However near the end of my dining experience, I had noticed that there had been a fly in my soup, this had downgraded my experience and lowered my appetite.

Suuuuper tasty and delicious food! Was actually a bit surprised that there wasn’t any pho but there’s a huge variety of noodle dishes! I got the char tsui noodle soup with wontons, and it was super pleasant to eat! Also quite a big portion which was worth the price

My go to lunch spot in Cabramatta. Forget about the menu it’s the crispy skin chicken that’s so delicious. Mine is with egg noodles in soup but dry noodles or rice noodles equally good. They want you in and out, so the service is fast.

We’re a couple from Canada and had the chance to try several dishes here. Overall, a mix of standout flavors and a few misses. We also really enjoyed the Mi Lamb — rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned.
On the downside, Pho Ga were disappointing. The bowl looked good with egg but it’s broth lacked depth and aroma, the chicken was tough. The Pho Ga especially had a broth that was almost tasteless.
Still, worth visiting for some of the stronger dishes!

Food was fresh and delicous. Crispy chicken with egg noodle is the best dish for when the weather is cold and rainy. Various dishes available like herbal duck noodle soup, diced beef with Tomato rice. Dishes are at reasonable price around $20 per person. Tea is free.

The chicken noodle at Tan Viet in Cabramatta is absolutely delicious — one of those dishes that keeps people coming back again and again. The noodles are cooked just right, and the chicken is tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Together, it makes for a comforting, satisfying bowl that really hits the spot.
Tan Viet is well known in the area, and it’s easy to see why. The chicken noodle is so tasty and so good, easily one of the best you’ll find in Cabramatta. If you’re in the mood for something hearty, authentic, and full of flavor, this is definitely the dish to try.
