Reviews
I liked it ! It was too sweet for my liking. But the plain naan and rice were good compliments.
Fried Spinach
They greeted us with us upon sitting. I appreciated that.
Mango Lassi
One of the best mango lassi we’ve had in this area. A must try.
Sweet Corn Soup
It was very watery, tasted more like chicken soup with corn in it. I did not enjoy this one.
Triple Szechuan Fried Rice
This one was interesting but delicious. I think I would order only the Szechuan rice next time. The noodles complemented the dish but weren’t great.
Additional Note— the chicken in every meal was well cooked and well flavored!
Tamu is an absolute gem. The food is incredibly fresh, full of rich, authentic flavor, and beautifully presented. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared, and the portions are perfect. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and stylish without being pretentious — a place where you instantly feel comfortable.
The service is exceptional: friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. You can tell the team takes pride in what they do. Whether you’re coming for a casual meal or a special night out, Tamu delivers an experience that consistently exceeds expectations.
Highly recommend to anyone who loves great food and great energy. Tamu has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorite restaurants!
Complimentary Spinach Fritters given to each table was excellent.
• Gobi Manchurian (Dry) – Crispy, well-seasoned, and tossed in just the right amount of sauce. A perfect appetizer with a great balance of spice and crunch.
• Paneer Manchurian (Dry) – Melt-in-your-mouth paneer cubes cooked beautifully, with a bold and delicious flavor that kept us wanting more.
• Paneer Bao Bun – A unique fusion dish that completely won us over! Soft, fluffy buns filled with paneer and bursting with taste—definitely a must-try.
• Egg Hakka Noodles – Cooked to perfection, not too oily, and packed with fresh vegetables and authentic Indo-Chinese flavors.
• Roti & Paneer Saag – The roti was fresh and warm, pairing so well with the rich, creamy paneer saag that had just the right seasoning.
• Malai Kofta – Silky, indulgent, and perfectly spiced. The koftas were tender inside, and the gravy was simply outstanding.
Not to mention huge bowls of white rice with ghee thats served along with the curries.
Beyond the food, the experience was made even better by the chef’s attention to detail and consistency—you can tell every dish is crafted with passion. Our waiter was exceptionally attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making thoughtful suggestions and ensuring we were well taken care of throughout the meal.
Tamu has truly raised the bar for vegetarian dining in Harrisburg. We’ll definitely be back soon and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic flavors, great service, and a memorable meal.
Served a plate of complimentary Spinach Pakora.
For appetizers:
Gobi Manchurian Dry (medium) It is a wet sauce. It has chucks of green pepper, minced onion and it’s a brown sauce with a definite Chinese influence.
Paneer Chili Dry (medium) it is a wet sauce. It was not very spicy, just enough to feel the burn. Paneer is soft with a slight resistance to your bite. Plenty of chucks of veggies.
Dinner:
Chilli-chicken (medium) there is a strong nod to a beef and broccoli in the taste with this one.
Chicken Tikka masala (medium) was less spicy than the others but it’s a very creamy tomato sauce. Very good flavor just not overly spicy.
Seems like poor business practice to us…even a little bit of conversation about the coupon may have encouraged us to stay, but I guess not this time. Place was basic on the inside, but nice and cozy with candles.
