Tamarind Tales in Norwich is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Indian food!
The dishes were very tasty and full of flavour. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the chef was especially kind and talented. It’s a calm and quiet place with nice background music perfect for a relaxing meal.
The prices are very reasonable for such high-quality food. One of the best Indian restaurants in Norwich.
Definitely a must-try!

Eaten in three times now as well as collected a takeaway. Food has been mostly excellent. Loved the Chicken Tawa, beef fry, lamb fry, chilli paneer. And crispy aubergine. Friend described onion bhaji’s as best he’s had. I had a taste and will get some next time. Several friends had dosa and waxed lyrical about them. Extensive menu so lots to try still.
Recommend people give it a try if you don’t know South Indian food. Definitely come here if you do.
If you don’t like your food too spicy tell them as they will cater for you. It deserves to be busy all the time.

The parota and the mutton curry were really good, with flavours similar to what you’d get at Indian restaurants back home. The pricing was very affordable too

Delicious South Indian food, flavours were excellent and authentic. The Happy Onam / Sadhya menu was a perfect way to try a variety of dishes, and the chef really has a gift as each dish tasted superb. Tamarind Tales is an absolute gem in Norwich – I’d encourage you to give this place a try!

Just giving the 2star for the food because this is the only place which the south Indian food is served. If I found another better place, I will give this place only a single star. The service of the staffs were not much good. Treating us like the people who went there to get some free meal. So embarrassing, and the atmosphere is not that quite good. And the waiting time is too long.

I visited this restaurant recently, seems like they started this restaurant a week ago. Guy at reception is very warm and welcoming and make sure, I’m seated comfortably and explained about the dishes and checked on me occasionally.
Unfortunately food tastes really bad, I ordered beef with banana fry and Malabar masala dosa. The banana fry tasted good, but there is a raw spice flavour to beef curry & masala dosa felt bland.
I would suggest the owners and chef to try food from other good Indian restaurants in UK. I visited a week after restaurant opening & restaurant was at ramping up phase, hence benefit of doubt and giving them five stars.

Ordered a takeaway last Sunday. Very good South Indian food. Something that Norwich has been lacking. Prices very reasonable. Good dosa. Chicken Tawa excellent as was the beef fry. Would recommend highly.

I visited this restaurant and it’s absolutely amazing. I ordered porota , chicken curry and chicken biriyani. The flavours were great and to top it off the desserts were incredible!! The person at the front was very welcoming and was such a friendly guy. He was always happy to help !! The chefs passion is truly shown in his dishes !! Would definitely come again, highly recommend!!

Staff Service and atmosphere is amazing.
Beef ullarthiyathu is the best we had and the kerala porotta is fresh, yummy and crispy
But only dish we were not satisfied was chicken 65 it could be better -more spicy with authentic masala and add on onions, there were only 2 bits of lettuce as salad. Rest everything was fine…
