We’re visitors from Canada, and this is our fifth visit to Tamara’s in the last 5 weeks.
We had the house burger with bacon and cheese and sweet potato fries, two lump crab crabcakes, the avocado fries, and a pint of Blue Moon and glass of Moscato to wash it all down. The drinks came out immediately, and as always, the food was absolutely outstanding.
Our waiter was Sheldon, and he really was the icing on the cake for our dining experience. He looked after us very well, and is just an overall genuinely great fellow. Tamara is very lucky to have Sheldon as one of her employees, and i hope she appreciates his efforts, and compensates him well.

As visitors from Canada staying in Fairhope, this is now our fourth visit in the past four weeks. Steven was at the front door again to greet & seat us ( no sign of the sour puss from a couple of weeks ago – WOO HOO ). Steven went above and beyond to seat us at the table we requested, even though it was quite busy when we walked in. He truly is a top-notch guy, and this is what the restaurant needs as a representative and first contact. Give this man a raise for crying out loud !
We had the house burger with cheese and bacon, and the crab salad. Both were absolutely amazing, as was our server “Karma”. She hustles, and has some pep in her step – She earns her money !
We’re in town for another couple of weeks before heading back to Canada, we’ll be back for sure – keep up the great work guys !

We made a return visit , and to our surprise , the sour faced greeter at the door from last time wasn’t there. She had actually been replaced by a much more cheerful lady who appeared to enjoy her job, and was happy to be there, what a breath of fresh air compared to our last visit.
We had the house burger and the crab cake, with a beer and wine to wash it down.
The food was fantastic of course, but it took literally FOREVER for the drinks to come out. What exactly is the hold-up to pour a glass of wine, and a draft beer ??? It takes TWO SECONDS !
Our server was “Sheldon”, and he was awesome, really great guy, but even he threw his hands up in the air when it came to the long wait time for our drinks – I think his comment was “where is she” ?
It wasn’t until 1/2 way thru our appetizers that the bartender FINALLY decided to pour our drinks so that Sheldon could deliver them to our table. Perhaps the bartender doesn’t want to be there anymore, and should be replaced by someone who DOES want to be there. Such slow drink service is completely un-acceptable, the bartender needs to up his or her game, or move aside and let someone else fill the role. Two visits in a row where the food was awesome. On the flip side, two visits in a row, where we’ve encountered non-motivated employees.
5 stars for the food and atmosphere, 3 stars for the service due to the 15 minute wait to pour a beer and a glass of wine.
Overall, we’ll return for sure. I know Tamara’s can get it right so I can give a 5 star, all-round experience, I know they can do it , and i’ll give them another chance to prove it !

We’re visiting from Ontario Canada and decided to give this place a try. We had the Bunless Portobello Burger and the Crab Meat Omelet, both were great.
Our server “Karma” was awesome. She was cheerful, very helpful with the couple of questions we had and she checked on us regularly.
My only criticism of this place and the reason for the 4-star “atmosphere” rating was the heavy black girl whose job it is to seat people. No smile from her just a sour look on her face, and the speed at which she moved clearly indicated she didn’t even want to be there. She barely had the energy to pick her feet up off the ground and walk. It’s unfortunate Tamara’s has hired a person with an attitude like hers as the first contact people have with the restaurant.

My server, Sheldon, suggested I order the pan seared scallops and they were delicious. Buttery soft and melted in my mouth. For dessert, I ordered the banana Foster’s bread pudding. Oh my goodness…! This meal did not disappoint.

An unexpected surprise of class and sophistication! Throughly enjoyed my lunch at Tamaras in Fairhope. I sat at the bar and enjoyed a feast of my favorites. No I could not eat it all! Service from the bar was top notch with Cameron doing a fabulous job on the front end while also being totally aware of orders from the back of the house. She was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable of the menu and of the drink choices as well as taking care of the entire bar service needs. A real professional!

The restaurant is eclectic and neatly decorated. They have a full bar and great prices on mimosas and bloody Mary’s. Complete with a Bloody Mary bar filled with your choices for fixings. There are indoor and covered outdoor seating areas.

Service from the back was quick and on point. As an appetizer the combo grilled oysters were a good start. The spinach and mandarin salad topped with Ahi was delicious and big enough for two! As an entree I went completely over the top with the fried grouper po-boy. It was the best grouper po-boy ever. Perfectly sliced, crispy on the outside, tender and moist inside. Remoulade requested was not missed and was slathered.

Parking can be cramped in front but there’s plenty of on street parking nearby.

I expect they get really busy but do not know if they take reservations. For 11am lunch / brunch it was not an issue.

SO if you are ever in Fairhope don’t pass up this opportunity. Highly recommended, I will definitely be going back.

Just passing through and I decided to stop, I was on the phone with my sister because she was going to pass by also. I was telling her how good the food was and she stopped and ate with me. We ate at the bar and was immediately taken care. From the music to the environment, it was amazing experience.

Excellent meal at Tamara’s Downtown Fairhope Got there at 4:30
And was seated quickly , hostess did a good job seating us in less noisy table as I have hearing impairment. I had the primerib with Parmesan Risotto along with steamed asparagus. Everything was cooked to perfection and the prime-rib was a generous portion.
Wife had crab cakes potatoes with mango sauce and asparagus. The crab cakes and potatoes were spot on. The prices were very reasonable considering the quality and quantity.
The service was superb, thank you Latoya for taking care of us perfectly! The ambience was relaxed yet somewhat upscale.
Was a bit loud but it was very busy.
Only challenge was parking. Not a lot of options in town so you just have to hunt a little
Will definitely return again for their great food and hospitality’

Service and atmosphere were great. Husband and I went for a date night. We started with oysters Rockefeller which were great. He ordered the prime rib, with mashed potatoes and grits. Flavor was good but the prime rib was a little overcooked. I had the “fresh lump crab cakes” with mango slaw asparagus and potatoes. This was highly disappointing. The crab meat was 100% not lump meat. There was not a single piece of lump meat and honestly just looked and tasted like it came out of the can. So sad because there was so much potential. Just not what was advertised. We will likely go back but would not order crab cakes again.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience at Tamara’s! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was wonderful, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. The service was equally impressive, attentive and friendly without being intrusive.
Let’s talk about the food! The rolls were absolutely to die for, a perfect start to the meal. My 8oz filet was flavor-packed, cooked to perfection, and honestly, no dipping sauce was needed – it stood beautifully on its own. My son raved about the char-grilled oysters, a clear hit with him.
To finish, we indulged in a slice of key lime pie, a delightful and refreshing ending to a truly memorable meal.
Overall, Tamara’s delivered on all fronts. Excellent food, impeccable service, and a lovely atmosphere make it a must-try. Highly recommend!

The food was good, not great. I had the filet and my fiance had the stuffed flounder. HANK was an amazing server, he made it such a great experience! The drinks were absolutely amazing. I’m still anxious to come back and try the pasta sometime.

Tamara’s was a fun and tasty experience. Not to hoity toity, but still classy. It’s ok to wear whatever and still dress up. No reservations, but worth the wait. All the food was very good. Prices were about right for the quality you are getting. The service people all were very fun and friendly. The selection of food was the best. Something for everyone. In the photos: pork chops, snapper, Triple tail, Tuna, Key Lime Cheescake, Filet. All very good.
