The food was very good, typical New England fried seafood. The service was good, from a window. Seating was in a building in the back or outside tables.

Food was very good, portions were well sized and 3 meals easily fed a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children). We sat outside at the picnic tables in the shade, it was clean. Only complaint we had was it took what seemed like an extraordinary amount of time for our order to be cooked. We ordered fish and chips, a steak bomb, fries and onion rings. It was fresh and tasted delicious.

Was with my daughter and were excited to get lobster rolls. I remembered going as a kid and have good memories. Service was fine. Spent a ton of money on the rolls and the lobster didn’t seem fresh. It was chewy, didn’t take right, and seemed over cooked. Onion rings were at least good, so we would recommend just getting fried food. Won’t come back.

Place is run by a bunch of teenagers who could care less. There wasn’t a single person I’d identify as an adult and if this business wants to actually make money and stay in business then I’d put some adult supervision in place!
Went there and There were exactly 3 parties. I could tell the young girl taking my order was new and needed help. I explained to two people what I was looking for. Multiple times I repeated myself. Chicken dinner scallop roll and I think it was called the tamarack
My bill was $60 for the food pictured. $60!
I sat there and sat there. Someone came to the window and mentioned something about them “86ing” tenders but they had enough for my order. I waited and waited more in the hot sun. There were 3 parties there. No one else. 2 parties came and went and a half hour later I go up to the window and ask about the food. It was 3 orders of fried food. The guy goes oh your order has been up no one told you?
Nope! So my fried food sat in styrofoam containers sweating and getting soggy for a half hour. Barely an apology and not a single
Condiment.
I had questioned the $60 I got charged as well for 3 items. They thought I asked for 2 tenders orders (mind you I repeated myself multiple times to 2 people.) so the girl does the math and is like you overpaid my $10 (I thought more but who cares at this point I’m just ready to GO!)
Then the girl asks if I want my $10 back?! Ummm first off I tipped to begin with. I waited 30 mins with no other customers, while melting in the sun, you overcharged me and then what expect that as a tip for good service?!
I have 3 boxes. A brace on my wrist because it’s broken and I ask for a bag so I didn’t have to carry it one handed. Do you think they offered to help after the inconvenience or let me struggle one handed? Do you think I was offered an apology?
Then I get home. No condiments. Food a sweaty hot mess and my $14 chicken dinner was kid sized at best. The whole
$60 meal was a joke. It wasn’t worth 20.
My friend was gonna call to complain. I said there’s a bunch of teenagers working there that could care less. If they cared they would’ve showed some sense of compassion when i was there.
I’m all about supporting small business but there’s plenty more in the area for me to ever want to go back to that place.
Good luck staying In business with the lack of service expensive food and terrible portion sizes

I wish there were options for half star ratings because 3 seems a bit generous. I’m a nostalgic person and wanted to take my daughter here for dinner because I vacationed in the Lakes Region when I was a kid and we at at Tamarack Restaurant often. However, I feel it’s glory days are behind it.

We both wanted seafood and got two fried seafood dinners. My daughter got fried clams and I got the scallops and clams combo. We both substituted onion rings for fries ($1.75 upcharge).

The portions are decent. I got 4 scallops and a good protein of clams. It almost seemed like I got the same amount of clams on the combo as the full fried clams plate

The clams were cooked well but it seemed like they were cooked because Tamarack had the product on hand and didn’t want to take a loss on them. The clams on both plates were dirty and grimy. Yes, full belly clams will be sandy but these were a bit excessive and had noticable darks clumps of dirt on them. My daughter only ate half of hers.

The overall cleanliness of the place is lacking
Lot of trash in the picnic areas and tables were not very clean.

It was $60 for the two fried dinners with onion rings substitutes and two drinks.

Would I return again? Unlikely.

Today was my first visit to the Tamarack! We were next door bowling, and hungry. We ordered a half pint of clam strips, and an order of french fries. The tartar sauce was great, the clam strips super yummy and the fries were good! The staff was so friendly, and we enjoyed our food at the picnic tables.
We will definitely be back! My kiddo and I love seafood.

They have consistently always had great food over the years. I have been coming since I was a kid and I have brought my kids. Their lobster rolls and milkshakes are always spot on. It is a must stop for me and my daughter when we are around Lake Winnipesaukee! We usually get it to go and park down by the lake for the views. If you’re a fan of great lobster rolls, the Tamarack is a must.

We we saw this restaurant as we were driving on our way back to our hotel and decided to stop as we love whole belly clams. They had signs all over that they were the best in the lake area, get interviewed often, served more people than anywhere else. We do not find the food to be very good. The portion was ample but the clams were overcooked and very chewy. The coleslaw was the average. You can eat, take it to go or they do have a large indoor area where you can sit and eat which is what we did. They had a restroom but unfortunately there was no toilet paper.

Ordered the Jumbo 7oz lobster rolls with onion rings, fried chicken and grilled cheese. The lobster meat was probably really 7oz, could get with Mayo or butter on the side. it was a ton of cold lobster meat. Onion rings were a huge let down. Went right at 5PM hoping to get hot and fresh items but the rings were not either hot or fresh. Window service only (the image of an indoor seating option is NOT actually available) but the service folks we spoke to were extremely kind and responsive. Good experience overall!

One of the better lobster rolls we had so far in the area although it definitely could have used more butter. Onion rings were overcooked and the place, while “vintagy” and classic, felt/looked dirty.

Got 2 overpriced lobster rolls and tasted like grilled rubber. The onion rings on the side were delicious but all together definitely not worth $80. I would say just get fried food instead, but I rather say go anywhere else in the area.
