Tamarack Farms is located among the tall towering pines in the beautiful Northwoods of Hayward, Wisconsin, and is surrounded by some of the most crystal-clear pristine spring fed lakes found anywhere in America. Throughout the years, Wisconsin has been the home to many award-winning breweries because of the quality of the water and the rich soils making it the perfect home for many abundant, thriving farms. The water we make our wines with comes from deep within water wells that tap some of cleanest aquifers and reach all the way into Canada, which were created back in the ice age when glaciers covered most of this area.

Have been to this place a couple of times and is very satisfying. There was a wait time to be seated but the food and drinks came very fast. I highly recommend the chicken tenders and beans. Atmosphere is upscale BBQ, the winery is a nice touch. I had the blueberry smash wine and bought a bottle to bring home. This is a must go to restaurant.

We eat at Famous Dave’s all the time and decided to go back to where it all began in Hayward. Absolutely NO comparison! This place knows how to prepare ribs!! The Famous Dave’s franchise has lost the art of BBQ. Our meal was delicious and well worth the 2.5 hour drive from Minneapolis. Thanks for the great food and wonderful service from Erin!

Server was very helpful. However, Tamarack wines were VERY sweet. The are plenty of other wines to choose from though. There are many Gluten free options. GF pizza was very nice except they left all the seeds in the jalapenos which made the sweet and spicy pizza very hot … More like a sweet and hot pizza. I feel that normally you would take most of the seeds out before you served them. Someone else had ribs and they were good. It is a busy place, open Thursday thru Sunday. Not a calming atmosphere… More of a restaurant vibe… Which it is pretty much, in a farm setting. It’s not a relax and look over the vineyard sort of view. All in all, was a fun place for friends and family to gather.

Excellent outdoor dining with wonderful food and a very low-key atmosphere. We loved the wine slushies, pizzas, and the ribs were the best we’ve ever had. Dave was there walking around and we got a picture with him. Kind of cool. We ended up being there twice during our week in town.

We went on a Friday night and it was booming with activity. We had a reservation so they were able to seat us.
I enjoyed the frozen margaritas. Very tasty and a good way to cool down.
We got pizza and a salad. It was good thin crust pizza. The salad was super big and filling.
They had a small menu but there were tons of families and adults hanging out. It was def a vibe!

Best ribs around. Pass on the sandwich options and go straight for the rack or pulled pork. Good buttery, crust on pizza. My husband thinks their coleslaw is the best. Casual setting. We mainly keep coming back for the BBQ ribs! Wine is ok… but ribs superb. Our advice? Order family style and share it all.
Don’t forget dessert. You could do like we did, and ask for it in a to-go box then eat it all before you leave. Both cheesecake and chocolate cake are AMAZING.

This winery/pizzeria/BBQ joint has great food and drinks. There is a large outdoor space with picnic tables and room for kiddos to run around.
The first time we went we got a pepperoni pizza and some wine. The crust and the sauce on the pizza were perfect. The second time we we shared a full rack of the ribs, which were cooked to absolute perfection. The baked beans were great and the cornbread was fine. Both times, we ordered the parmesan garlic wings, which are smoked and fried. They are delicious and a must have.

The wings were to die for!!! I need hot sauce with 99.9% of the things I eat, but these were sooo delicious & full of flavor I did not need it! However, I wish they did have a HOT bbq they served with their food, because to me the 3 that were provided were pretty mild.
Our server ordered us the brisket sandwich instead of the 1/2# of brisket we asked for but she didn’t come back until we were done eating & asked if we wanted the check. This was fine because everything tasted great & we had our drinks we wanted. But we realized we didn’t get what we ordered until after… with that said, there was a good amount of meat on the sandwich!
I was afraid of the wine selection they had for the wines they made there because everything seemed liked it would be so sweet.. but we tried the blackberry/cranberry wine Togo & had some on the lake when we got home & it was perfect! Sweet, but not sooo sweet you can’t stand it & it has a tart finish which I loved!

Great place for a dinner with friend’s and family. The service was top notch, the pizza was great, and the bbq is truly made with the love it takes to make great smoked meats. Just wish they had more hours of operation.
