I’ve been looking for some good tamales and this is it! Fresh tamales! The meat is so tender and flavorful. I like how they use banana leaves to wrap it – gives it a nice taste ❤️. We also got quesa birrias and flautas – all so yummy! Not salty etc. I think I found my go-to spot in the burbs. Yay!!

The food is as authentic as it gets! Everything is right on. No words would give a fair explanation of the sensation to your palate. You would just have to taste and find out for yourself. I’ve traveled around broadly in Mexico, and I cook based on my true experience and memory of palate instead of recipe books. I consider myself a picky Mexican food eater as most of the Mexican food in America do not meet my standards for true Mexican cuisine, but this place! It is nothing BUT AUTHENTIC! Excellent service. Limited dine in capacity. They are all about the food!

Tamales and Birria tacos were delicious! It is piping hot when you pick it up. Tamales in between banana leaves and in aluminum foil, but their chick and pork tamales, and their birria, tasty, soft, seasoned and the broth! Warm & delicious. My wife loved it! Definitely a repeating customer

Truly exceptional tamales. The banana-leaf wrapping keeps them wonderfully moist, adding a subtle earthy aroma you don’t get with corn husks. The balance between filling and masa is spot-on—rich, flavorful, and never dry. Easily some of the best I’ve ever tasted.

When we first got there, the front end lady not very approachable. Did not smile. The food has no flavor very bland. The beans with the rice have no salt. I did ask for a taco with no onions and she overloaded it with onions. I was under the impression that the fried empanada was just the chicken, but they added the cheese. The salsa have no salt. They have no flavor whatsoever green or red. I’m wonder if the owners are eating their own food because this is terrible to say the least. The horchata; there was maybe 10% in the machine. It does not have a taste of Horchata.

Best mexican food around! It’s my new favorite mexican food spot because the food is very flavorful and seasoned perfectly. I’m updating my review because I had to try their gorditas. They make their gorditas fresh and homemade, so it takes a little longer to cook, and that’s what sets them apart! we didn’t see the gorditas online the first time we ordered. (We just saw them on the menu in the restaurant) We tried their potato and chorizo gordita and their chicken tinga gordita. I prefer the chicken gordita. I didn’t really like the chorizo and potato gordita because it was just potatoes that were seasoned with the taste of chorizo. There wasn’t any actual chunks of chorizo meat in the gordita. The gorditas were lacking with meat filling. They could have added more meat to them. Overall, their chicken tinga in anything will be great here. Birria was really good as well. I enjoyed the chicken and green salsa tamale, but the green sauce was too sour for my liking. Their red salsa tamale is bomb I think their red salsa is far superior to their green salsa here. I can’t wait to come back and try other menu items.

Chepis is a gem! Their Birria Tacos are so authentic and flavorful, ask for hand made tortillas! It’s a small in/out establishment, staff is really nice. We will certainly be back!

I just found my new favorite place to get tacos!

I got the el pastor 3 taco dinner and every bite was absolutely delicious! The place is small but very clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

I was reluctant to stop by because the multi unit retail building itself needs a facelift, but the reviews convinced me to stop and try it. So glad I did.

There is no dine in, so it’s take out or delivery only.

But if you like in Berkeley Square, Greenbrier or any of the nearby neighborhoods, definitely worth it to try them out.

1/12/22. This place recently just opened so I decided to give it a try on my way to work. I called and ordered takeout, I ordered the tamale combo which includes rice and beans and 2-3 tamales of your choice, food was ready in 10 minutes and it met and exceeded my expectations. Authentic in taste, especially the pineapple tamales that I ordered, well cooked, and not to mention, courteous staff there that I was welcomed with. Underrated place, hopefully these guys get more business from newer customers around the Chicagoland area. Definitely a go-to restaurant if you want to grab a quick bite. Will be coming again for sure.
