Food here is still pretty alright. I accept that part of this poor delivery is on the driver from Doordash. Based on responses to other reviews, I expect if there is a response, that it will be unprofessional and defensive. Smothered burritos, beans etc, all packaged and delivered on their sides. Doordash driver should not have just transported by the handle, but maybe this Tamale Kitchen shouldn’t be utilizing Doordash if they aren’t advanced enough to do so successfully. Maybe just taking note from some other shops that do it successfully. Thought it was worth sharing the experience so people know what to expect.

My wife and I get takeout from Tamale Kitchen every Saturday and I can honestly say it never disappoints. Their smothered breakfast burrito is amazing! My wife is a big fan of the asada tacos and pozole. But everything we get there is incredible! Truly one of our favorite restaurants!

I’ve been coming here for over a decade. I’ve eaten hundreds of breakfast burritos from them and seen dozens of employees come and go. I think they’re currently in a good place with their staff and their food. I wish they were a little cheaper, but that’s the climate and administration we’re in now. I’ll continue to be a weekly customer as long as they’re a part the community and they keep the green Chile flowing. Order online and pick it up yourself for best results.

This was our first time at Tamale Kitchen. We thought it was like a restaurant but you order at the counter, which is fine. Food came out fairly quick on styrofoam plates. I ordered a Mexican hamburger and a tamale my friend ordered a chicken burrito. They looked the same, the Mexican hamburger looked like a burrito, no lettuce or tomatoes and cut up beef that had a weird taste rolled into a burrito. The green sauce was okay. The chicken in the chicken burrito was highly questionable if it was meat. The tamale was very dry. We picked out the meat and just ate the tortillas There’s a large trash bin by the door so you can clean up your table. This was the worse Mexican food we’ve ever had! Not a friendly place. I do not recommend.

Went to Tamale Kitchen at 5055 S Kipling Pkwy and the Girl who took my order screwed it up bad. Took it back after she screwed up my order and asked her to fix it. She charged me 4.00 more. I gave her 5.00 and said thats ridiculous.
U screwed up my order and charge me for more when I payed a 1.00 more for mine then my mom’s was and then she said I can give u yr money back and u can leave. I said no jst fix my burrito like I ordered it.
She kept the 5.00. Did not give me my 1.00 change back and the put green chilli on it but forgot the lettuce and tomato again. So sent back again and finally got it right. Called manager and told her what happened. Asked if they no longer provide customer service. She said not. U have to pay more for them to fix it even if they screwed you.
So 10 yrs pluss of going their and customer service and quality has went to shit even the people running it has. Prices have also dble in the past 2 years.

Not bad at all. I have eaten at just about every Tamale Kitchen and this one did just fine. Placed a phone order about and about 5 minutes later arrived and my food was ready. The lady working the counter had me checked out quickly. The burrito was great. No complaints!

Restaurant was closing early and I walked in at 445 to get an order. I was greeted with an absolutely horrible look from the cashier and then she said “can you pay credit” because she was already counting the drawer. I only had cash so I was turned away- for only having cash….. If you’re going to close earlier, don’t be upset when people still go in during your regular business hours. Restaurants are already a failing business because of lack of customer service. Do better.

The food is not worth it, Taco Bell is better! I order the combo number 1. I ate at the location, they handed me a bag which sauce poured out from the plate/ container. Everything was over smothered. The chili was good. The rest not so much. Beans and rice no way they were cooked today. Not possible not even close. The tamale was under the smothered enchilada and under the chile relleno. There was probably enough cheese for a medium pizza. The Tamale was really just loose cornmeal bc it was smothered so much. You were basically eating batter and cheese with chile on top. The counter help had 2 ladies. The younger was genuinely nice, not the other tho!!!
