This is one of my favorite bars in Oakland! I love a martini and they of course do great ones here. So many options so there’s something for everyone. They have an extensive non martini drink list as well if you’re not into martinis, including cocktails, shots, beer, wine, sweet drinks and slushies. They can be quite busy depending on when you go, but luckily the space and bar are pretty large.
They have a completely vegan menu which includes some really fun vegan hot dogs! I’m not vegan, but they were very tasty. We got the elite and the lion dancing. There’s also free popcorn in the back!
Speaking of dogs, they are dog friendly which is always a plus for us! I think they allow dogs before 6pm? Or some time around then, so it’s more of a casual afternoon drink place then. It’s fair because we’ve been in the evening and it does get crazy busy and loud sometimes which most dogs would not be into.
Service has always been super nice and even in their very busy times they try to keep an order of who hasn’t been helped yet. Overall a great place!

I got one drink from Tallboy after lunch and it was the banana hammock. When they said actual flames, they mean actual flames. It’s not like some little candle they garnish on your drink, they actually spritz and flamethrower the drink with cinnamon spice and you can really taste it! Our mixologist was awesome for entertaining us at 2pm on a Saturday and the one drink I got was great and a sneaky one. I’ll have to come back to try one of their hot dogs next time!

Came early around 4 on a Friday in December. There were a couple small groups and the vibes were chill and festive. The place was packed by 530 and the crowd was a good blend.
Bar itself is one of the best looking I’ve been to in Oakland, staff were friendly and made some great drinks. Only had a few snack items but will be back to try more of the menu. It has all the workings to be my new favorite spot, can’t wait to come back.

Really cool ambiance inside. I have not had any of the custom drinks but I did stop by on my lunch and try the Lion Dancing dog. Very good! The lady bartender was very nice and welcoming too! Definitely will be going back to try drinks/more dogs.
Update 6/20/25: tried a few drinks and they were wonderful! I had the pretty privilege & baby boy…oh and another Lion Dancing Dog.

Really like the vibe of this hipster dive. The drinks are great, especially the Vesperado for all my Mezcal lovers. The food is all vegan, and while I liked my kimchi hot dog, it does seem to go down awfully fast for $14; in other words, not quite worth the price but I appreciate their playfulness in creating the menu. Cocktails, I will definitely come back for!

My group of five (4 of us for the first time) stopped by here for drinks on December 23rd between 8 and 9. It already had a lively crowd and the music was popping. Great vibe. I had a non-alcoholic Coffee Martini that was delicious! I ordered another one right after finishing it. The bartender was super, and brought the table a round of shots (carrot juice for me). They have complimentary popcorn from their self-serve popcorn popper with 3 different shakers of condiments. We had the best time chatting and listening to a fantastic playlist. I hope to return before the holidays end!

I stopped by Tallboy with friends for a brief night for a Tallboy Martini and the Elote dog, and both were dialed in — the martini crisp and balanced, the Elote dog fun, indulgent, and delicious even to a carnivore like me.
The vibe is intimate, cozy, and effortlessly cool, the kind of spot you want to linger at without checking the time.
Low-key neighborhood energy, high-key execution. I’ll be back.

Full disclosure… Tallboy is a client of mine but that being said we don’t get out much.
Took my lady for drinks on a Friday night and wound up having an absolutely exceptional evening.
I’m giving the food five stars because our table Partners couldn’t stop raving about it even though we were just there for the drinks.
The service was outstanding, Den the owner, was very personable with all the people he was helping and it was great to watch him mix up some great drinks.
The atmosphere was exactly what I expected of a martini Speakeasy Lounge.
The Cosmopolitan is a remarkable upgrade on a classic recipe and I really enjoyed my Game Blouses, not just in name only.

Stellar experience. I mean a hotdog with a cocktail what else could you want. The atmosphere is super cool it’s well designed. The drinks are great and the hotdogs are bomb. There’s just a pretty fun menu here in general. It is loud but realize why you’re here. It’s a bustling vibrant bar with spectacular drinks, great staff and fun menu.

I had high hopes for the cocktail program fueled by local hype, but the drinks I had were just ok. The food was really good though, been craving the spicy Lion Dance dog and sesame seed cookies. I came in as a birthday treat for myself, and it took awhile to get noticed or offered a menu even though it wasn’t busy. **update** the martinis we had this last visit and the Vespas were delicious. Giving Tallboy 5 stars
