They literally have the BEST clam chowder I’ve ever had. Ever. Hubby loves the steak and eggs cooked to perfection every time. Their spinach omelette is Amazing. I wish they were 24/7!!! And a drive through?? There’s got to be some kind of award we can give them….

Hubby and I took a mini vacay to Eastern Oregon. Went to Tall Town Cafe for breakfast in Lakeview and it was so good! Great service, great breakfast. Best sausage links we have had in a long time! Real country gravy. Recommended for sure if you find yourself in this little town.

Tall town Café is one of those favorite places in Lakeview, Oregon. If you want to have a an amazing breakfast or a scrumptious lunch, Tell town Café is definitely the place to go. Owned and operated by a local family with a heart of gold always looking to give back to their community. Tall town Café serves a traditional American breakfast and lunch, and sometimes they surprise us with a sprinkle and a dash of their own culture when they serve a traditional Mexican meal. With mouthwatering food, clean environment and the most friendly staff, you can’t help but feel like you’re home when you visit Tall Town Café.

Lakeview is not a world class city. But like most post peak America it is trying to hold on to a bit of pride that heavy resource extraction brought it. The detrimental food stuffs that have created the obesity and diabetes that are epidemic now can be found here. This might sound like a put down but quite to the contrary it is just a sad observation. I had biscuits and gravy and thoroughly enjoyed them. The service and surroundings were perfect. I even bought a $10 souvenir tall guy wielding a six shooter coffee cup to honor and recall the experience. Travel in the desert towns of the west has its own distinctive cuisine and requires a lowered sense of quality to truly appreciate. Good luck, hang in there until your healthy diet can be restored

A down-to-earth eclectic little cowboy diner where locals and travelers alike eat homemade fare in an informal atmosphere. Try the house pico de gallo with cactus!

Stopped in for breakfast here this morning and we were NOT disappointed! Great little place. Lots of hometown pride here. I had the Tallman omelette, it was stuffed full of everything you want in a breakfast omelette with just enough egg to hold it all together. Hash browns cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside, soft and tender in the middle. Great food, great service! When in the Lakeview area make time to stop in here. You won’t regret it!

July 14 2019 breakfast. We bought a slice of apple and a slice of cherry pie $4. each the day before. Not certain if it was a frozen pie or just frozen crust and canned filling but you could taste the corn syrup. Not very good pie at all. We went back for breakfast today because I loved the ambiance and wanted to taste something freshly prepared. I ordered spring spinach omelette $8.95 and he ordered the BMP omelette $8.95. Did I say what a nice job they did on the decor?  So both omelettes had great flavor the problem is they were cooked in way too much oil/fat The outside was slathered in fat. We each received 1 slice of sourdough bread cut in half for our toast so two “pieces” but only 1 slice of bread… first time we have not recvd. two pieces of bread.  Each omelette came with  hashbrowns drenched in oil (image included). I couldn’t eat mine, he slurped his down. They looked crunchy but were not due to the drenching of the oil. The coffee was typical diner coffee. The service was outstanding 5+ stars. The entire facility is very clean and the ladies bathroom immaculate 5+ stars! I am giving a thoughtful review because we really did love the ambiance and the flavors are there the cook just needs to cook the food with a little higher heat and whole lot less oil/fat! Food 3 stars as typical diner food but the food could easily be FIVE stars if it wasn’t so greasy! Oh and 2 full pieces of toast is typical this place the exception… give us a second piece of toast, please. Four stars is high but the cleanliness, service and ambiance felt like 4 stars. Hopefully they lighten up on the oil/fat.
