The crab cakes are worth the hype – lots of meat and a good size. Fast and friendly device, too. The catfish poboy was also delicious.

To be honest, I have not yet been in the restaurant but when they set up food truck style at Winchester Brew Works, my wife and I had their crab cake sandwich and shrimp, it was absolutely perfect! I was born and grew up in Maryland and have haunted the Delmarva most of my life and I can honestly say that I have never had a better crab cake. It was all backfin and tender but firm and spiced just right. Highly recommended!

We have been here many times and love the food. Staff here have always been very pleasant and helpful when we place our order and pick up. Today we encountered a very rude and seemingly unhappy person taking the orders at the counter. She also was on her cellphone the whole time. Our order for takeout was not difficult as we knew exactly what we wanted when we walked up to counter. We were surprised to encounter such an unpleasant person. I believe we were interfering with whatever she was doing on phone and it irritated her. She definitely needs some training in customer service and an attitude adjustment. She treated every customer that came in after us the same way. Your food is too good to be ruined by unfriendly and unhelpful staff.

Absolutely fabulous crab cakes – all meat – with perfect herbs and spices. My wife had the catfish and loves the breaded coating. Hush puppies were perfect. BUT WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO TRY: The crab and shrimp roll – the crab meat from the crab cake (with all the herbs), plus shrimp in a double size egg roll – incredible. It’s my new seafood destination!

The crab cakes are great, but the hushpuppies and Mac&Cheese are even better!! My husband loved the fried shrimp too. Super friendly service and delicious food in a cute little town. Stopped on our way into Shenandoah National Park. 10/10!!

This restaurant serves up top-notch seafood. It’s a small sit-down restaurant w/a walk counter for orders. The young lady who took our order was very friendly and there wasn’t a long wait for our food. The lump crab cake was one of the best I’ve ever eaten; NO FILLERS, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fried oysters and hushpuppies were delicious and not overcooked. We tried all the sides, and each one was a winner.

Cannot say enough about this place. Every single time I’ve stopped by, I encounter people that have traveled miles to try it cause they’ve heard amazing things! They have recently moved to a larger space in the main street of old town Front Royal and added even more amazing things to their menu. Their most popular item is the crab cake, which has absolutely no fillers at all, and is made with Miami crab, which is just slightly sweeter and more flavorful in my opinion. My personal favorite is the catfish po boy, and that’s coming from someone that never liked catfish. Ever! The crust is absolutely amazing and the combination of toppings and flavors leave you wanting more, but out of gluttony, since the portion of quite large and the price very affordable. Their hush puppies are also some of the best I’ve had anywhere on the east coast. They’re slightly sweet and salty, with pieces of corn inside. I highly recommend you give them a try once in your life. It’s definitely a must do foodie stop and perfect before heading to beautiful skyline drive or camping.

This review is long overdue; I’ve ordered takeout several times when I used to live nearby and each order was delicious!! The best crab cake I ever had the chance to enjoy, no doubt. The staff is super friendly, portions are generous and the food is delicious. Next time I am in the area when they are open, I will definitely treat myself to their food.

Talk of the Mountain had a food truck at Messicks Farm today and my daughter said “well Mom the crab cake is $20 do you still want one?”…..I thought about it and said “yeah lets try it”. Now you know God ALWAYS has a plan! I got the biggest, most delicious lump crab cake WITHOUT fillers, home made hush puppies with real corn in them, and three fresh fried shrimp. You talk about slap your Momma GOOD! That was the best $20 I have ever spent! We went back over to find out who these guys were and they are Talk of the Mountain out of Front Royal!!! If you don’t do anything else this summer you have to have to try their food! The three gentlemen working the food truck today were friendly, polite, informative and everything was made fresh when we ordered it…..yes we saw one of those awesome gentleman tossing the crab meat and making the crab cake! Talk of the Mountain is the real deal! Get you some!!
