Social Profile:

A Family Tradition Since 1946 Talita Arroyo, a native of Brownsville, Texas, met Sergeant Tony Neno Prince while he was stationed there in1944. While attending a USO dance, Tony spotted the most beautiful Mexican girl in a festive red dress. One look and he knew she would be his wife. In 1968, Talita and Tony decided that the world was ready for Talita’s authentic Brownsville-style Tex-Mex cuisine. Foods from Talita’s own ‘Cocina Mexicana’ (Mexican kitchen) this adventure was the beginning of something new and wonderful. Talita’s has grown from humble beginnings to become a Columbus landmark. Each day until her retirement, you’d find the real and spirited Talita Arroyo-Prince and her children running the show at her area restaurants.

No-frills Mexican fare (beef burritos to arroz con pollo) in a landmark family-run cantina.

Order: 2 cheese coneys

Food: Great coney, much bigger dog than Skyline, unique chili that still feels like it’s Ohio-style, soft buns.

Vibe: Mom & pop spot in a quiet business park on Dublin Rd. Ohio State decor all over the walls. Talita’s is chunk of nostalgia in an otherwise modern business park.

Service: Very friendly owners who’ll talk to you if you want to chat. I never wait more than 5 minutes for my food.

Value: Very cheap for the value that you get. The portions are bigger than most other coney spots.

Would I return?: Yes, I go all the time.

Bottom line: Great coneys, definitely recommend if you want something that isn’t just Skyline or Gold Star. Much better service and the food is tastier.

You can tell when someone cares and they do here. Such a relaxed and welcoming environment. There’s something to be said about being able to not have to choose if I want coneys or enchiladas, or even a burrito! It also helps if they food is tasty and affordable. Make sure you say hi to the owner and try both sauces. It will be worth your time.

I have only eaten the chili dogs for lunch but I really like them. This is the lunch special for I think $12. Lots of food.

Great little hidden treasure spot serving coneys and select Mexican dishes. The coneys were delicious, and fries were spot on right out the fryer with a hint of seasoning. And for the price…2 coneys, fries, and a drink for $12…you can’t beat it. The front man Frankie was very friendly and his service was top notch. Diner type atmosphere with OSU and vintage memorabilia. Great spot for a quick bite if you have the craving for coneys or burritos!

Accidentally stumbled upon this really tiny Columbus gem while in the area for a suit turned into a really pleasant surprise. Wanted a quick bite for lunch, walked in and felt like I stepped back in time! I took a seat to review the menu and could tell there was so much history on the walls! The business has been serving since 1968, which was really impressive to stay open that long especially for a small restaurant such as this.

Up front, we were greeted by a really pleasant older gentleman who I believe has worked there for over 30 years. We ordered the coneys, and they tasted just like I’d imagine homemade coneys would – simply tasty! We couldn’t get over how nice and positive the gentleman was, and my fiance wants me to mention in this review that she wants to put the cute older guy in her pocket and carry him around. The guy even snuck us some oatmeal cookies. I was pleasantly surprised to find this little mom and pop gem. Would definitely be pack next time I’m in the area!

This small burrito and Coney restaurant really surprised me. I tried their signature Coney hotdog and a small chili wrap. The price was really low and the size was large enough. Both were juicy and delicious. The Coney tasted better than the burrito for me. I really enjoyed the cheese, authentic Coney sauce, and onion in it. Service was friendly and fast. Unlimited sauce was provided.

Been a fan of Talita’s for decades and although it has been passed down to younger generations of the family I am proud to say the quality, flavor and taste all still bring back memories of years past.
We were so happy that still have the same green sauce and still sell it to go!!!
Highly recommended.

It has been over a year since I had my favorite dish. It did not disappoint. My wife went there with the kids and brought me a carry out.

I always order the BEEF SOFT TACO PLATTER (no onions). I always add their signature Italian dressing and their homemade mild sauce. SO GOOD.

Even after a 20 min drive home, the food was still HOT The soft tortillas were fresh. The beef was seasoned perfectly. Perfect ratio of meet lettuce and cheese. The side of refried pinto beans was tasty, the rice was good, just not a rice person.

I took a couple bites and of my rice and beans together, Delicious. Then on to the main items. I DEVOURED those soft tacos. Then took the remains that fell out and mixed with the beans and rice, I added more mild sauce and Italian dressing, put it on some chips…I was in HEAVEN.

BTW, Wife brought me some Chips and Salsa too. They were very good.

If you are looking for a different taste and experience of Tex Mex (Brownsville, Texas) put this place on your “to do list”.

NO COMPLAINTS.

Talita would have been proud.

Pretty good coney dogs for a decent price. I would definitely recommend eating here if you like coney’s. The owner is also very freindly and nice. I wish they would upgrade to a higher quality of shredded cheese.
