I eat here more than I should probably admit. The seared salmon belly is truly perfection. Coming here and not getting it is criminal. Also highly recommend the walu with wasabi pickle, spicy tuna roll, house roll, hamachi belly, mushroom miso soup. The staff are wonderful, too. It’s a small spot, but two people can still get a seat without a reservation.

All around amazing sushi and experience. We had a reservation for opening. Within an hour every seat was filled. It made for a great warm experience.

The yellowtail and fatty tuna were out of this world. Spicy tuna rolls were excellent as well. And they had good import beer. 10/10. Don’t miss it.

The nigiri was wonderful! I really loved the aburi sushi. It was my first time trying it and they had lots of options. Punches way above its weight in terms of quality for price. Modest storefront with an inviting ambience when you get inside. Will definitely be back.

High quality food in a comfortable, stylish atmosphere. Everything we have tried here has been delicious- including the teas! We are becoming regulars quickly 🙂 if you’re looking for excellent and affordable sushi and Japanese staple dishes- look no further. We have been for both lunch and dinner. Sushi rolls range from $5-10$ per roll.

Takumi has the best Nigiri in the area. I have frequented this restaurant three times in the last 4 months and I will ALWAYS have a meal at Takumi whenever I am in the area for work.

My favorite nigiri was the Seared Salmon Belly. Hamachi Belly w Lime Zest, Fatty Tuna, Suzuki, and Mackerel were also very good. The RICE was phenomenal. It melted like the fatty tuna.

My only negative was the roll. It was cut too large and not flavorful. I ordered it once and never again.

Went for the omakase experience at the sushi bar. Every plate was fresh and delicious. The waitress explained everything and gave wonderful recommendations for sake. For a fancy rare treat make a reservation!

By far the best omakase I’ve been to (and I’ve been to ones in DC, NYC, etc…)

It’s not as publicly featured so you’ll have to make reservations and ask. But the price for the 14 pieces + 2 appetizers we got were amazing!!! The chef was so kind and sweet. The waitresses were attentive and explained every piece.

I 100% will be back!!!

Our RAW favorites: scallop, Suzuki, fatty tuna (MELTS in your mouth), and the brazini

Our COOKED favorites: mackerel, Suzuki with spicy mayo.

The calamari pasta with uni and quail egg was unique and would get again!!

Paired it with a Seven Spearsmen sake and it was honestly the best anniversary dinner my partner planned for our 6 year!

This place is a gem; a very chill sushi spot we’ve repeat visited now three times after discovering. The food is very good, and the fish are noticably fresh. The prices aren’t bad either. They don’t have a lot of tables, go early or call ahead. It wasn’t as crowded for lunch and the bento box specials were tasty!

Small, cozy Japanese restaurant specializing almost exclusively in sushi and sashimi. A few hot appetizers as well. But folks come here for the sushi/sashimi.

Incredibly fresh quality and a few variations with a twist (e.g., unique toppings on a unique variety of fish or seared nigiri). The calamari pasta is amazing (thin ribbons of squid in ponzu with uni and seaweed). A nice list of high quality cold sakes are available as well.

Reservations definitely recommended as there are limited seats and the place is popular (for good reason)! One of my favorite spots in the entire DMV.
