We came to this spot while touring colleges. It was the description of “no nonsense” that caught my attention. However, that alone doesn’t do it justice! The service was attentive and caring. The sushi was fresh and delicious! And above all, my 17 year old said it took him back to his Study Abroad experience from the summer!

We had the Yellowtail Set and the Tuna Set. Both were good – but the Yellow Tail was fantastic!!! There is something special about their version of “spicy”. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

✨So grateful for Taku Sushi to have opened on H st! I finally got a chance to try it out, everything was wonderful. It’s just what H st needs, a classic Japanese restaurant with delicious food, cozy environment and kind and friendly staff. I got the salmon bento box, something I usually don’t go for but WOW am I glad I did! Everything was cooked/ prepared perfectly! You can tell it’s all made fresh, I actually feel healthy after eating. I took it to go but snapped some photos before eating it all-not pictured is the miso soup. Can’t wait to make it back again soon ✨ ✨✨

While on a lunch crawl of new restaurants along H Street NE, my friend and I stopped into this tiny sushi spot in the old DC Harvest space run by a husband-wife team. Since we were the only ones there, serve was quick. Within minutes, we had their “Sushi Plate B” which comes with miso soup, a small salad, seven kinds of sushi, and spicy tuna. Everything was fine, but the spicy tuna stood out as full of flavor.

We got the deluxe sashimi and a couple of rolls! ALL delicious! And great pricing! The staff and owner were all friendly and helpful as well! Bonus points, since they are still waiting for the alcohol license you can BYOB! This place will definitely be in the regular rotation! Can’t wait to visit again!

So nice we came here twice (in two weeks). Best sushi experience I’ve had in DC. If you’re looking for a place that prioritizes the freshest fish while keeping reasonable prices, you’ve come to the right place. The chef has been making sushi for 30+ years, so ask for suggestions and you won’t be disappointed. A welcomed addition to the H st neighborhood. Currently BYOB but that will change soon. Enjoy!

Fantastic Sushi & Friendly Service – Highly Recommended!
This new sushi spot truly impressed us! The sushi was incredibly fresh, and the staff was warm and welcoming throughout our visit. It’s a great place to enjoy a casual meal or a night out.
Parking Tip: We parked at Whole Foods right across the street. If you spend over $10 there, you get 1.5 hours of free parking—super convenient!

Had the deluxe sashimi. While I’m not a fan of white tuna, I get why it’s included. The hamachi was really good, melt in your mouth. As was the rest of the sashimi. I liked how seaweed salad was used as a bed for one of the fish. And need that miso soup for the probiotic and comfort on a cold fall evening.

This place was delicious! Probably the best gyoza beef dumplings I’ve ever had, and their rolls are amazing too! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Perfect neighborhood spot. Will become a part of my regular rotation.

Food was good – we had sushi rolls and it was all very well made and tasted very good. A couple service concerns – at the beginning of the order we told the waitress we wanted 4 rolls and then named them off. She interpreted that as us wanting 4 of the first thing we named, so we ended up with 7 in total. Just be careful and clear in how you order. Water service also took a while. But would go again, just being more clear about what I actually want.
