The food was good and you get a lot for your money. A decent sized menu as well. Staff very friendly and good service. Didn’t wait long for our food also.

Me, my husband and a few friends from my local church had a fellowship get together here. The food was delicious and talk about bread, they have the best garlic bread, bread and butter I have ever had. The staff is very courteous and kind. The only bad side is they close early and don’t have a lot for night staffing. I would highly recommend this place for a nice place to eat and have a social get together for lunch. Service is great.

My family and I came here to try something new and were met with a wonderful surprise. There was plenty of free parking and we were immediately seated even though the restaurant was very busy. The service was polite, friendly, and direct. The menu was diverse but what really stood out were the available specials and the diversity of the comfort food available. The portions were superb and prices very affordable. This was a great Sunday breakfast/brunch meal.

My husband and I drive a semi truck and happened to see they offered parking for our truck and trailer so we thought we would stop and give it a try. We had the most delicious dinner. I ordered the broiled scallops which were cooked perfectly and served with rice and a side of butternut squash. Both were yummy. My husband ordered to scallops Carbonera which was creamy good and started with a house salad. The deserts really are a stand out here. There is an entire case to choose from featuring lemon cake, red velvet, 3 kinds of fruit pies, cannollies and a baklava cheesecake. My husband had the cherry pie a la mode and so had the baklava cheesecake. Both were homemade with love and super tasty. We were so full we ended up staying the night in the truck in the parking lot where in the morning my husband had some oatmeal which he said was outstanding and we both ordered Greek dishes to go. I had the Spanokopita. A rich spinach pie with feta and phylo dough. It was so delicious and my husband ordered a Greek dish with a beschemel sauce, meat and pasta. It was outstanding as well. The service in the evening for dinner was terrific and the gal we had serve us for breakfast couldn’t have been any more helpful and efficient. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely put this on our list of must stops when we are passing through Vestal, NY

The service here could be better. The waitress as I sat down, told her I was getting a to-go meal, and she just grabbed the menu right out of my hand.
The food was prepared rather quickly and was alright BUT the customer service could be better.
Update: Food is garbage , egg sandwich made in under 6 minutes.

I order the pancakes rolled up with fruit. For some reason. I thought it would be fresh fruit and not a fruit topping or filling for a cake. Now, I know to avoid it unless I’m looking for pie-filling stuffed pancakes. I took them home to my aunt who, despite being like only 100 pounds, has quite the sweet tooth. She ate them right up. I ordered the eggs and bacon for myself instead. This was delicious, I will stick with savory options.

Had breakfast at Take a Break restaurant.
Great diner, feel, and atmosphere.
Ordered the egg, bacon, and cheese on a roll, with home fries and an English muffin. With orange juice.
The home fries were cooked perfectly.
Today’s visit 3/26. Ordered the House scrambled, 3 scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, peppers, onions, and cheese. Nice portion, had a great flavor. A definite try if you’re hungry for breakfast.
The breakfast sandwich was tasty with a great flavor. Eggs and bacon cooked perfectly.
They offer a wide variety for breakfast. They also serve lunch and dinner, plenty of dessert choices in the case.
Give them a try for some great food.

Stopped in mid-morning recently for breakfast. Place was almost empty with only two other tables with customers. Ordered two pancakes and a coffee. Pancakes were thick and heavy and served with a small plastic lidded condiment cup of fake maple “syrup” which was only adequate for one pancake. Waitress was less than pleasant, so did not dare ask for more, as I can only imagine there would most likely be a charge for extra. Should have gone with my instinct when the parking lot of the diner next door was packed and Take-A-Break had only a couple of cars.

My first diner stop in the area. The food I ordered was their house breakfast something? Forgot the name, but it had bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, potatoes. Also got a side of French toast.
The food was the highlight of the visit. Gigantic portions, eggs were cooked perfectly the way I like it, meats were good, pancakes were a little flat but decent, potatoes were my favorite. Perfectly cooked slices and nice crispy edges, perfectly seasoned. Coffee was yummy and refilled regularly. The French toast was honestly one of the best I’ve ever enjoyed. Thick bread, perfectly seasoned with the spices. Syrup is served on the side with togo ramekins.
Service was great, friendly and aware of our needs and got everything we needed.
Ambience. Adorable and cozy local diner feel. I can see myself getting lost in a book and enjoying a quiet morning with my breakfast…mmm definitely my favorite diner in the area.
I will definitely come back again. I recommend the plates a dishes ordered.
