Was there to see a show at the corn Exchange and was early so decided to get something to eat. Was turned away from most places as unbeknownst to us the football was taking place and about to turn out. Takayama staff were delightful and managed to find space for us( under the proviso we could leave within an hour or so,which we readily agreed to. )Absolutely lovely staff, very good service, nice tasty food. Please go – it’s a nice experience which frankly doesn’t happen that often, we were made to feel welcome. Also good prices. Thank you Takayama.

I got the dyck ramen and the korean spicy chicken wings. The food was lovely and hot when served. The duck was overcooked but the flavour of the broth was amazing. Would recommend and visit again if in the area.

Absolutely lovely restaurant with a nice authentic atmosphere and fantastic decor inside. Roomy with more tables on the 1st floor. Food was heavenly and beautifully presented. Really, really tasty. Service was exceptional, polite and friendly. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Definitely worth a visit. We will be coming back soon. Also the Japanese whisky is one of the best ones I’ve tried.

This was my first time at Takayama since their location change and I was very impressed! The atmosphere and deco at the restaurant is really lovely lovely with cherry blossom trees around the place. The food was served very quickly and it was delicious. The waiters always seem to come by exactly when you needed them. Very lovely experience!

I don’t usually write feedback, but the experience was too good not to share. The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Even though we were told we only have 2 hrs and it was very busy, our food arrived quickly and the service never felt rushed. Our lovely japanese waiter Ross, was incredibly professional, friendly, and bubbly while she took the time to explain the dishes to us since we weren’t familiar with the cuisine. All staff was attentive and accommodating. We had such a fantastic dining experience and will definitely be coming back to Ipswich with my friends to enjoy this restaurant again!

absolutely incredible experience every time i visit. staff remember my regular (not expected at all, but a lovely surprise). i visit roughly every month or two and have been coming here for 4 years and despite relocating in that time, staff have always been consistent in their fantastic service and the food quality has always been fantastic. they respect allergies which is amazing for an authentic east asian restaurant outside of london. worth every penny.

We visited here last week with another couple and shared a bunch of starters from the menu. The starter portions are very generous making is possible to only need the starters to have a full meal. I definitely recommend the Tori Karaage and the Miso-glazed Pork Ribs. Everything we had was delicious but these two especially stood out.
The inside of the restaurant is very pleasant, they have a robot that takes dishes around the restaurant but it was on charge when we were dining and was only on briefly before we left.

First time visiting this restaurant and oh my goodness, what an experience. Gluten free options and oh so tasty. Japanese and Korean food, so really gives you so much choice. Cannot wait to go again!
