The presentation was stunning too — vibrant colors, unique plating, and a clear attention to detail that made every course feel special. While I do wish there had been a larger roll selection, what they did offer was executed with precision and freshness. Every bite was memorable, and it left me genuinely excited to come back and see what new ideas they come up with next.
The service was another highlight. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Water glasses were always full, timing between courses was perfect, and the entire meal flowed effortlessly. The food came out promptly, and there was a calm rhythm to the pacing that made the evening feel relaxed and enjoyable.
Overall, a truly wonderful experience — inventive, flavorful, and thoughtfully delivered from start to finish.
The service was very good and our server took care of us very well! All of the nigiri we ordered was top notch and their entrees were delicious! I recommend the matcha ice cream for dessert as the matcha is premium grade.
Great service and the staff gave us some great recommendations that ended up being our favorite dishes. Highly recommend!”
We loved everything we ordered from:
Takara miso soup with fresh salmon and truffle oil
Hirame special with lemon zest
Gravlax salmon with wasabi pesto
Ahi Fiesta roll with crunchy onion
Salmon Oshi roll with ponzu jelly
Unagi nigiri (best I have ever had)
Fatty tuna nigiri (just melted..)
Other exceptional nigiri, bluefin tuna, bluefin tuna belly, salmon, hamachi, tamago.
Finished off with their Yuzu cheesecake.
Heard great things about their matcha affogato ice cream (hot concentrated matcha syrup but too much caffeine for us. Maybe an excuse to come for lunch ).
I only was able to take 1 pic because my family ate the rest of the food before I could take a pic. So good that food was disappearing.
The place is relatively new, in the not-so-busy part of La Jolla Village. On our Sunday visit at lunch time, it’s not crowded. The front is wide open, letting in the fresh ocean air from the shore not far down the street. The traffic noise also got in and the place is a little less refined as it could be.
Service is very nice. The dishes we got, from miso soup, uni pasta, to the Hoseki “make your own sushi” plate were all excellent. You can tell the quality of ingredients and the chef’s skills in every bite.
Get the Salmon Baguette, Cucumber Salad, and Unagi Sashimi for sure but its between the La Jolla Roll and the Salmon Oshi for the rolls.
10/10. Will recommend to everyone
