We came here for Valentine’s day dinner and reserved the omakase in advance. We had a fantastic experience and truly the freshest, tastiest fish. We drove down from Seattle for a weekend trip, so we are familiar with high quality fish where we’re from. However, every single bite we had at Takara was outstanding. There were cuts of fish that I usually do not enjoy but found myself wanting more at Takara. The service was amazing, the atmosphere and staff were extremely welcoming. I could not recommend this restaurant enough. We will definitely be making the drive down to Portland many more times to visit again.

Found this spot a few years ago via work invite and still at the top of my favorite list. This Saturday night out with my love I was convinced to try the oysters and theirs did not disappoint, they’re my partner’s favorite. In addition, we had a few sushi rolls and miso soups. We also loved the atmosphere, customer service, staff interactions, Sake Flights and more! Can’t wait to go back again.

This was the best sushi I’ve had outside of Japan. The first was incredibly fresh, the drinks were delicious, and the service was exceptional. We loved how excited about the food all of the staff were. You could tell that it was made with love and pride for their craft. 10/10 would recommend. We will definitely be back!

Walked here on my lunch break because Google and the restaurant’s website both said they were open. Their website even showed online pickup ordering and delivery were available. When I arrived, the restaurant was completely closed.
Wasted my limited lunch time based on incorrect information that hasn’t been updated. If hours have changed, they need to be reflected accurately on Google and the website. This was really frustrating and avoidable.

My family and I drove out to Oregon from Vancouver for the weekend and had an incredible time at Takara Sushi. The food was fresh and very flavourful. The chef and staff were also very welcoming and made us feel like family. I’d highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you’re ever looking for good sushi in Portland.

I wanted some sushi for my birthday and I’m so glad this is the place I chose! The staff was really friendly and sat us in a lovely window seat. The chairs were really cute and comfortable. Love the atmosphere and design. Very chill.
The sake was delicious. Best miso I’ve had in Portland. The fish was fresh and prepared expertly. The gyoza was great too! The yellowtail sashimi was so tender. I was really happy with my meal. We’ll be back for another date night sometime soon.

This is the BEST SUSHI in town hands down. I am so proud to say that I live down the block from this GEM . The staff is beyond welcoming and so friendly. My first day at the place they opened the restaurant even though it was closed and sat us down to what I believe is the BEST SUSHI IN PORTLAND. Not only is their love for the customers amazing but they have the product to back it up. THE FOOD SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. Whoever they get their fish from deserves an award.
Some of the most fresh seafood I’ve tried in a long time. The presentation of the food is beyond amazing and the QUALITY IS A1.

This is a great sushi restuarant on the edge of downtown Portland. Its in a quiet area on the water. The sushi was delicious. I got the Takara Tower which is great if you love salmon. There are also so many specialty rolls to choose from too. They also offer a variety of sake and make mixed drinks as well!!!
