God I love this place, please don’t ever leave Plymouth. Been going here for years and it’s got to be the best all you can eat Japanese place i’ve tried in MN. I prefer dinner time for the sashimi! Price is great, food is so good, servers are nice, and restaurant always looks clean. Some of my favorite things to order are the salmon teriyaki, beef udon noodle soup, seaweed salad, and gyoza!

Food is good. Staff are generally nice. Atmosphere is rough. The lighting is dark and harsh white at some tables. It’s hard to get comfortable. They have some unique things that other ayce places don’t, but some of them are pretty clearly factory frozen. It’s a decent place, but not somewhere I’d go out if my way for. Fix the atmosphere (art on the walls, warmer lighting, better table arrangement). Anything to make it feel more alive would do wonders.

Sushi was fine and basic I liked the place but I haven’t been back since getting food poisoning. First time ever getting food poisoning ever. I had the salmon roll and then 30 minutes later I was in the Lunds bathroom across the street for 1 hour. Legit didn’t know what to do and would not wish on anyone. Not the only one of my friends that has experienced this.

Over all pretty okay my food was fine and atmosphere was nice. I had lunch with some friends so it was a good outing. The ayce lunch was a good price and the cooked rolls we’re good. I left feeling a bit disappointed In the sashimi.

I am not one to post bad reviews, however this was not what I expected. The service and quality was just not there. Warm raw fish, everything was greasy and a had sweet teriyaki flavor. Not worth the money, but should have expected that I guess. My family thought it was okay…

Today had to be the worst experience at Takara. We usually visit about 1-2 times a month for sushi and while it usually is pretty decent, today the quality of everything was horrible.
Both the kitchen items and sushi were abysmal.
The rice in the nigiris and rolls were completely unseasoned – just cooked rice with the sushi/mixes. The spicy snow crab rolls were missing the crunchy tempura bits in it.
I usually enjoy their sashimi but today it all looked haphazardly sliced up and dumped onto the plate. The nigiri was also falling apart the moment you pick it up.
The shrimp tempura had such a thick coating and was over cooked that the shrimp became rubbery.
The steak teriyaki was swimming in sauce and looked like it was boiled (grey-ish).

Our first time there. The place is practically another tokyo sushi. Even the menu is exactly the same. We went in right before the dinner rush so therevwas no wait and the atmosphere was fine. Service was good but they should put another person on schedule. Got a bit busy and only so much one guy can do for so long. The fried rice and chicken wings were fine. The short ribs and pepper steak could use a bit more seasoning. The sweet & sour chicken and the sesame chicken were bland even with the sauce. Had 6 of their sushi rolls and half of them was good while the other half was just ok. Some of the rolls started to fall apart once you try to pick em up. The sashime were cut up into huge chunks and practically just defrosted. The salt & pepper shrimp was good. Spent a little over $200 on a family of 8. Could have been an off night but I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Takara Sushi is one of the better AYCE sushi in the area, it’s definitely worth the drive if you’re interested in stuffing yourself and trying a bunch of different things.
Their menu offers the typical ACYE sushi fare, including sashimi, hand rolls, tempura items and noodle dishes. The menu differs in that Takara offers “kitchen specials” not seen at other similar restaurants, these specials include: Salt and Pepper Shrimp, BBQ short ribs, General Tso’s chicken to name a few. Pro-tip: the short rib order is one small piece so order a few. The items ordered were fair, typically at an AYCE sushi spot the flavors then to be the same amongst the rolls but this was not the case, each roll had their own unique flavors.
Service was a bit slow from the kitchen. We ordered wings and thought they had been forgotten.
Overall, Takara is worth a visit for AYCE sushi.

The sushi here is amazing! As far as all you can eat sushi places go, this is the best one I have ever been to. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are amazing, especially John! The menu is quite extensive and they have wide variety of drink items as well. If I could give it 6 stars I would!

We like Mexican and BMW rolls. I always order spicy tuna hand roll and spicy tuna roll. I wish they would have fried rise on their menu.
