First time trying Takano for dinner and it was pretty good.
The service was fast and efficient even though there was just one server for the entire restaurant. It was also pretty busy for a Wednesday night.
Lets get into the food…
For appetizers we ordered the shrimp tempura which was very light and crispy. We also ordered the gyoza which was pretty typical to other places we have tried, but what set them apart was how appetizing they looked. Taste was pretty standard.
We also ordered 2 rolls, the land and sea roll (shrimp, asparagus, and wagyu) this roll was really tasty. The spider roll was good as well but pretty much what you would expect from a spider roll.
Lastly we shared the chicken teriyaki and tempura combo bento. This is where I was a bit thrown off because the chicken was stir fried with onions and peppers. I wasn’t expecting that, but it had a good flavor. It came with miso soup and a salad with ginger dressing.
Overall it was a good experience and a good meal.

Took my friend here for the first time a couple weeks ago. I had their tonkatsu black ramen (has black garlic oil in it) and it was pretty decent (wish it could be customized a bit more). Also had a really nice spicy tuna roll that I really enjoyed.
At the end, my friends and I split a fried ice cream, which we enjoyed sharing.

Great Service and friendly and clean. Not sure why the name changed, but the food definitely did. I get the same thing at every sushi place including the old sushi avenue. But the quality is different. I added some other sushi place; same item to give reference; Other places were cheaper/equal in price but gave better cuts and impressive quality.
You don’t have to be in midtown or ATL to get good sushi, but plz don’t give me your leftovers at the prices you are charging. I will be back when you return to quality cuts and better cuts of raw food bc unequal .25cm cuts IS for sushi rolls, Not an ideal cut for chirashi don. I did wait for it for a good 42min, not worth the wait.
I paid for it, but I will wait for the new place to get it together.

The Tonktsu Ramen is soooooo good. I really love the broth it’s honestly the most flavorful ramen broth I’ve ever had. I’ve tried them to go several times and it taste the same each time. I also went in person and it still tasted the same like I was so shocked. It’s hard to find a good ramen place that is consistent with their flavor around the metro area. The pork gyozaz was good too! The staff are also really nice and the service they provide each time is wonderful! I’m so glad I tried this place because now I’m hooked

Gyozia pan fried was so good that I ordered a second round! Veggie gyozia was good as well! This place has the best sushi around Atlanta I’ve had. The salmon was sweet and fresh, my favorite salmon roe was creamy with good flavor and nice color! Freshwater eel and sea eel were very good! Beef and salmon were very good combinations. Tempura and beef teriyaki were very good! Shoyu ramen was ok. Green tea ice cream was smooth and creamy! Green tea was nice! I definitely recommend this place!

The beef is good, but the lunch portion only comes with five slices. That’s why I always get the large size now—$20 for a regular portion is ridiculous; it’s not even close to filling.
This time I specifically asked for no salad, no oranges, and extra rice. But you still gave me the same tiny amount of rice, you just split it into two boxes.
I don’t eat a lot normally, but even I can’t get full with your portions. This is unacceptable.

I’ve been here a few times. The baby girl and I pulled up again today. The service is great. The food is really good. Nice cozy setting, not too fancy, just right. The staff is A1. They have Georgia themed sushi rolls Whats not to like about that .
Definitely go check them out of your in the area.

Other reviews have stated that there has been a noticeable drop in quality in the transition from Sushi Avenue to Takano, but I personally don’t think so. I went to Sushi Avenue a few times within the past few years, and then I went to Takano today, and I think Takano is just as good as Sushi Avenue was. In fact, Takano offers things that Sushi Avenue didn’t, like ramen and chilled soba, so in some ways, Takano is actually better than Sushi Avenue.
In any case, this restaurant is definitely worth a try.

Top notch spot. The raw fish was so tasty and fresh. It literally melted in your mouth. My go to Sushi spot when I’m in town. The service is great too!

This was our first visit to this establishment. We were greeted and seated almost immediately upon entering. The service was very friendly and prompt. The food was delicious and the portions were generous enough for leftovers. Will definitely be back.
