Taka Japanese Sushi Restaurant is absolutely fantastic! The food is incredibly fresh and full of flavor — every roll we tried had the perfect balance of taste and texture. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients and take pride in their presentation.
The service was just as impressive. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed.
If you’re looking for amazing sushi, great taste, and outstanding service, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

My husband and I highly recommend Taka Sushi. We love sushi, and everything we ordered was outstanding. We started with spicy tuna with rice and shrimp tempura (even though it wasn’t on the menu, they gladly made it for us). Both were delicious—the tuna had the perfect balance of spice and crispiness.
We then ordered several sushi rolls and sashimi, including the Rainbow Roll, Invesco Roll, and Otoro Nigiri. The fish was incredibly fresh and high quality. They have a great roll selection with something for everyone.
The service was excellent—our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and very helpful. They also have an impressive wine selection. We were truly impressed and will definitely be back.

Stopped in for dinner. Had a reservation for three. Table was ready for us but were only given two menus for a party of three. Ordered some appetizers and nigiri. Nigiri was kind of small for the price. Excellent desserts.

This is our preferred Japanese cuisine in Atlanta. We have been dining here for years, dating back to its previous location on Pharr Rd in Buckhead.
We appreciate Taka’s menu, which showcases authentic Japanese cuisine, including sashimi, sushi (onigiri and rolls), and various “Izakaya style” dishes. If you frequently dine on Japanese food, you can identify the chefs’ origins through their “Izakaya style menu”, which typically features hometown specialties. Therefore, if you enjoy “okonomiyaki” (Japanese savory pancakes), Taka’s offers an authentic and delicious option.
Taka consistently offers the finest seasonal seafood on his daily specials. Recently, Taka has also showcased an extensive selection of premium sake and Japanese whiskey, featuring some rare varieties. On our last visit, we had the pleasure of savoring ‘Hakkaisan, junmai daiginjo, 3-year snow aged’. Notably, golf enthusiasts may recall that sake was featured on Hideki Matsuyama’s menu at his Champion Dinner.

We had a terrible experience at Taka Sushi tonight. We waited an hour and a half for our food to be delivered. Our friends had to take their meal “to-go.” When we asked the waiters for status and they just kept saying it was coming. I asked to talk with the manager and they told me to speak to him I needed to GET UP from my table and see him at the sushi bar. There he YELLED at me saying “I’m sorry but we are slammed and there is nothing I can do, everyone is waiting!” However we kept seeing others continue to get their food while we waited. They did COMP our dinner. I’ve enjoyed this restaurant in the past and I hope they will solve their problems.

Our favorite sushi spot in Atlanta—hands down. The fish is always fresh, the service is warm and consistent, and the ambiance makes every visit special. Plus, their wine selection is not only impressive but also the best-priced in the city. A true hidden gem!

Very cool spot. There is not a bunch of seating so if you come after about 530/6pm I’d highly recommend making a reservation. They do offer seating at the bar as well. The happy hour options are great, both in variety of options and pricing. Sushi was exceptional. Dumplings tasted great. I prefer mine a little more crisped, but they were still worth it. Edamame was good. I let the chef surprise me with 2 rolls and they did a phenomenal job. Very flavorful and great presentation. Definitely worth trying out if you are in the area.

Simply amazing. The nigiri and sashimi were both outstanding! The sashimi portion size was on the small size but the quality was wonderful. The waitstaff were very knowledgeable and courteous. This is my new goto place for sushi in Atlanta.

Usually I have such a great experience, this time not so much. I placed a to-go order; I noticed after I got home they automatically apply a tip without telling the customer, they didn’t note one of my appetizers so once I got home I was missing half of my meal… Usually, this is such an amazing restaurant but this time I was very dissatisfied and disappointed.
