Had to visit this place after I saw it on Diners Drive ins and Dives and it lives up to the hype. They even have some dishes named after Guy Fieri the owner was super nice and cracked a few jokes. As for the food it was delicious! Was totally worth the price and trip out there

There were a large selection of food items. We had samosas and fried onion appetizers. The green sauce was excellent. I had a Tandori Platter with chicken and beef. Very flavorful. The garlic naan bread was also great

Ok, I don’t eat a lot of Indian or Pakistani food but with our gem of Taj Mahal in downtown Boise, I throw the rules out. First the hard working husband and wife team deliver amazing recipes that are amazingly authentic and delicious. Start with a naan in any of 5 ways. The pick your main with so many herbs you could never make it at home. The flavors are incredible. I highly recommend this great landmark jewel.

Ate here tonight for the first time. Wish I’d have come years ago, the food was awesome! I had the Achari Paneer, my wife had the Chicken Tikka Masala and we both loved our dishes. The buttered naan was also very good. We will definitely be back!

This was our first visit to this restaurant, and we were eager to try their Indian cuisine. We brought along my 70-year-old grandmother, who had never experienced Indian food before and rarely goes out. The food exceeded our expectations, with rich flavors and a great variety of options.

However, we felt judged by the staff for not being dressed as formally as other patrons. This was disappointing, as we have dined at high-end restaurants in the past without issue. In addition, we found that some dishes had more sauce than meat, and were informed after ordering that the restaurant had run out of lamb. Although we replaced the dish with chicken, the inconvenience was noted.

We understand that we arrived right after the lunch rush, which may have contributed to certain challenges experienced during our visit. While the food was delicious, we ultimately felt that the overall value did not align with the price point. As a result, we have decided not to return to this establishment on future visits to Boise.

Please be aware that photographs of the main dishes were taken after the meal had commenced. It should be noted that the dishes were quite pleasing to the palate.

Such a good experience every time I have gone to this restaurant! The food is absolutely fantastic, the korma is rich and perfectly made. The owner always comes over to make sure the food is up to standard, and that each table is catered to. Overall you can tell how much care and quality this family puts into not only guest experience, but making sure you leave happy with everything you order!

Taj Mahal is the best Indian food we have had in this area! They do a wonderful job with all of their dishes! It’s nice to actually get spicy Indian food when you ask for it to be “hot”! Often times at other places you ask for hot and it’s not very spicy.
All of the dishes we ordered were delicious and perfectly prepared! Note if you want delivery they do go through a third party like door dash. We ordered take out with Door dash and our food arrived piping hot and perfect!

TL;DR: Amazing food made to order, slower service in a not stuffy environment.

Service: We were a group of seven with a not too crowded restaurant on a Thursday evening. It took an hour from seating for all of the food to come out. The staff were friendly but the length of time was long. It was shared that all the food is made to order. While not en excuse, it was the feedback.

Food: We ordered a little of each including curry, the goat specialty, naan, and rice dishes. All of them came out hot and at the correct spice levels. Flavors were delicious across thr board. The rice was very flavorful and the portions were generous. Several came home with leftovers.

Environment: We were able to reserve a larger table in advance and it was not very crowded. It isn’t fancy but felt cozy and authentic. The do not have a liquor license, so its beer, wine, and sodas plus teas. It was easy to converse and there is also outdoor seating which is under a cover.

Parking: Street parking or using the parking garage. Easy access to the garage.

We would definitely eat here again, even if it was slower service. But the staff were friendly and the food very flavorful.

Hadn’t visited this place in a while. Fairly good ambience and good food. Seating was quick, the order was quick to place but the food delivery was glacially slow. The waiter did mention that things are prepared from scratch so it will be slow.
Lassi was in big bottles, so you get around 1.5 glass. Food had a good flavor.
only complain would be that there were belly dancers and their music was very loud. It was good entertainment but essentially couldn’t hear anything else.
