Worst Indian food experience ever.
I asked the server to recommend the best dish on the menu, and even that tasted awful. The chicken biryani was a complete disaster—dry, bland, and nowhere close to authentic. They charged extra for raita, which is usually complimentary with biryani at every Indian restaurant I’ve ever visited. Even the basic mint and tamarind chutneys were poorly made. I told the server the biryani was terrible and didn’t taste like biryani at all—she didn’t care one bit. Taj Mahal Cuisine of India seriously needs to learn how to cook Indian food properly. Not recomended at all. Complete waste of money.

I was unpleasantly surprised by our carry out meal.

The chicken biryani did not have the depth we expect and not even a hint of of the warming seasonings I expected. Perhaps we were given some other dish?

The second dish was a new one for us called Murg kadaiwala. We expected something rich and spicy. Spice level was low and general flavor was surprisingly bland.

This is only our second meal at Taj Mahal. The first was better.

This is a family-owned Enterprise, in my opinion. It’s the best Indian food, within 100 miles, they continually put new things, in the buffet, the buffet is hot, plentiful, and the mango custard is truly excellent,.. personally, I would prefer this to any other family-owned restaurant in New Mexico,..

Very good food! The mutter paneer was our favorite of the dishes but I don’t think you can go wrong with anything here.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Albuquerque. I love Indian food and Taj Mahal doesn’t disappoint. The building is very well decorated and has a very warm homey feel inside. The chef and staff are very nice. The first time I ate here I accidentally ordered a dish that was so spicy I could not eat it. The chef did not hesitate to redo my order and was so polite about it. I honestly would eat here more often if it was closer to me. Would definitely recommend.

So if you had taj a few years ago it used to be 5 star. Its now barely pushing 1-2 on food. Service still great, but we had tomato sauce & lamb yesturday & the chicken tikka tasted like it was grocery store off the shelf quality at best. Where did all the exotic spices go? Give me Nana & dosa, give me taj palace over this any day.

Incredible food! The flavors are rich and authentic, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you’re somewhere far from Albuquerque. Definitely a must try!

The food, service and atmosphere were all amazing! I can’t wait to go back and try more. We had a paneer appetizer and a lamb kabob appetizer, both were delicious. Then we ordered 4 different dishes and the garlic Naan. Everything was delicious and huge portions. Next time I’m saving room for dessert

I was in Albuquerque for a work training and being that we don’t have any Indian restaurants in my small little town of Alamogordo, I sought out something we don’t have in my town. I gave this place a shot and was very happy I did. First off the waiter I had was very nice, and I enjoyed all the staff. Service was prompt, everything came pretty quick, and the food was very flavorful. I only have limited experience with Indian food, but I tried some stuff I’ve never tried including my appetizer and experienced flavors I haven’t before. It was good and it will be somewhere I go again when I go back to Albuquerque.
