Straightforward eatery providing a menu of familiar dishes as well as a lunch buffet option.

Food was wonderful!! We had several different waiters and it was a bit confusing at times, but overall I was happy with our meal! We went on a Friday evening around 7pm and there wasn’t a wait for a table, food did take around 45 minutes to come out.

I hadn’t been here since 2022 (because they gave me food poisoning) and today I thought maybe I would give them another chance. We go and pick up our bag of food and then as soon as we get home, we get a phone call basically saying we forgot half your order, come back. My lunch break ended, so my cousin went back alone to pick up the rest of the food. Of course it was my food they “forgot” and my cousin didn’t know what it looked like. My food gets back to me at the house and my order is completely wrong. I figured, it’s not a big deal, I used to work at a restaurant, if food got messed up or something, you just do a refund. So I call and ask if I could come back after work or send someone to pick up my refund. Mind you, I didn’t even ask for a full refund, which we should’ve done the second half our order was “forgotten” to be honest. I just asked for $11 dollars for my meal that was messed up. The lady on the phone proceeds to yell at me and then I don’t know if she was trying to threaten me or what, but then she literally told me, “oh yeah, come back in here” after yelling at me about how I will not be getting a refund… So yeah, I guess that is the vibe here! Anyone have any good Indian restaurant suggestions around here that won’t give me food poisoning and scream at me?! I’m all ears.
Edit: also just remembered the naan was CHARRED, thank you

Food was decent. The space was entirely empty at lunch. The staff wasn’t attentive but we got what we needed. The portions were ok but the prices were a bit high for what we got.

Well, It pains me to have to write this review. As you can see, I don’t write many. I do when the service or establishment is top notch or if something is really bad. Please understand, I am not unrealistic and understand things like this probably happen often but when you see it happen, it doesn’t sit well. I will be unable to eat here again. Last night, I took my children to eat here and the food tasted delicious as it has for the last 10 years I have been dining here. Service is not always great, prices are high, and the owners don’t allow the staff to keep their tips– fyi – I was let in on this from a prior employee years ago and have validated with a current employee more recent.
Here is what happened. After we were done eating, I had to use the restroom so my son and I went back to the Men’s restroom, door was locked and we knocked. Obviously someone was in there so we waited outside the door. About 30 seconds later, the toilet flushed and immediately comes out a male cook – had an apron on and a kitchen glove on his right hand– Now he came out immediately after flushing the toilet which is obvious he did not wash his hand/hands– right hand had a glove on caked in tiki masala sauce that he had just prepared my food with and left hand was bare. I was immediately disgusted that this guy was using the restroom with that glove on and returned to the kitchen to stir up the new batch of Indian cuisine with it and did not wash or remove the glove for that matter before using the restroom. At least the toilet was up so it appeared he was standing to use the restroom and hopefully using the bare hand but still. Again, I know this stuff and worse probably happens but thankfully are unaware of these things happening. Unfortunately, last night I witnessed it and won’t be able to return.

We had an excellent experience with this restaurant. The food was great, the spice level was perfect (I ordered medium, I was worried it will be too spicy but it was actually medium). The service was great, several people came to check on us and make sure everything was good. And last but not least the prices were very reasonable. Great experience for sure.

Taj Mahal never diaappoints!! Have not been here for a while and they have renovated their location, space and menus. Staff was humble and helpful . Checked on us ✔️several times, just to make sure our meals were made as requested. Which our meals were sooo GREAT! Taste, texture, mild spice (for me)… perfect for my palate. Had Lamb Curry, which was sooo soft, tender & juicy. My husband ordered Chicken Mikala , which can also be chosen as Mild, Hot or Spicey Hot. Mikala is made in a tomatoe based sauce. This was also, really terrific! Also ordered some different indian breads, to dip in our curry & mikala sauces: “Poori” bread (puffy bread) and “Naan” bread (looks like pita bread, but softer). I ordered some delicious & fresh Mango juice, that compliments the curry. They also have spirits: different Beers & Wine, along with different carbonated drinks, juices and of course ice water. Always a joy to visit the Taj Mahal, best Indian Cuisine in Fort Wayne (as I have tried others) and none compare to the Taj Mahal. So if you are looking for something different and like spices (especially curry), Taj Mahal is surely the #1 Pick!

Where do I start!!! Our waitress was an absolute delight this evening, so helpful with the menu and suggestions. I can’t remember the last time I had such a pleasant staff member. The food was delicious and the presentation impeccable. The variety of flavors truly awaken the pallet. Just walking in the door will give your senses a rush. A definite great choice for Indian cuisine.

The chicken tikka masala was fire! I tried multiple naans and all of them were super fresh. The paneer kulcha was my favorite. The mango lassi was so good that I got one to go too

The food was awesome. Samosas were excellent, the chicken in the Tikka Masala was equally as excellent and my daughter’s curry was great. The service was good too – attended to all needs. The decor is meh but I don’t care. Overall perfect experience, and this is the 5th time I’ve been here, always good. Recommended.

This is the only Indian restaurant in the Fort Wayne area in my opinion as the other one up North I have never tried nor have the desire based on other reviews. I feel that this restaurant has stepped up the game over the past few years and have improved since the pandemic. We were here over Easter for lunch and was happy to report that they have wonderful service and the food comes out quick. I ordered the Non-Veg Thali (Traditional indian meal served in silver platter with chicken pakora, lamb curry, chicken curry, tandoori chicken, dal, rice, raitha, naan and kheer as dessert) which is a wonderful blend of different food off the menu. The curry was not too spicy unless you request it and everything was cooked perfectly. They give you ample naan and rice for your meal. The lamb also was quite tender and flavorful. I would give this place a 2 thumbs up for any meal!
